Flushing out refillable carts question.

I just ordered a set of R3000 Inkjet Fly inks that I'm just going to add to my existing Inkjet Mall carts that still has Inkjet Mall inks in them without flushing them out. If it's a bust I'll accept it, no big deal. Or I get a chance to try another Venders refillable inks with my Inkjet Mall refillable carts. I'll give it a shot see what happens.

I have the Epson R3000 and I changed one vendors refillable inks and carts to another vendors inks and used the first vendors carts. Every thing went smooth I thought I had to flush out the carts before I could put the new inks in. What I did was shake out all the ink I could from the carts and I just made them wick out onto Scott Towels to get the remaining inks out for approx a day. Put the new inks in ran a bunch of purge sheets & test photos and everything is back to normal with my new inks.

I usually "wash" used cartridges with new inks. It's not so economical (we throw out around 10 to 20mL of ink per cartridge), but it works and does not have the drawback of remaining unvaporated water. A contamination of 10% easily drops to 0,1% or less between the second and third partial refilling.
