I recently had two OEM cartridges trigger the “replace ink cartridge” message simultaneously, which seemed odd because they are both fairly new and still have ink in them. They are magenta and light magenta. When I replace them with my old cartridges, the printer recognizes the old cartridges correctly and reads them as having low ink (2% remaining). However, the newer cartridges only produce the error message, which prevents me from printing with them.
So, it seems like the problem is with the cartridges, not the chip sensors. Would you all agree? And is there any way to fix them? I have tried cleaning the chip contacts and the area around the ink connection. I also tried agitating the cartridges a little bit without any luck. Could I reset the chips on these cartridges? Would that help? If so, which resetter should I buy?
Thanks for any advice!
