I read somewhere that it is necessary to take out, on a regular basis, each cartridge of the 3800 and shake it carefully.
I feel that it is best not to take out the cartridges too often and therefore I would like to have your advise how often the cartridges have to be shaked?

There’s no need to remove the cartridges from your 3800 at all, the simplest thing to do is to print something at least once a week to keep everything ticking over..:)

I don't take my cartridges out to shake them - I just shake the printer. To be more accurate I lift the printer by the "handles" on each side and rock the whole printer back and forth aboout 10-15 times. It only takes a minute so I do it once a week.

The Hat,
Is it indeed sufficient, as you are writing, to print something once a week, to avoid clogging problems?
It seems so simple!

I reckon so Harry because the printer will usually give itself a good shake anyway before it tries to print anything first, the Canon Pro printers do that.

I only shake the spare cartridges that I have on the shelf once in a while to keep them in perfect condition..;)
