Can someone confirm it is possible or not to use a Type A CD/DVD-tray size ID card tray (for Epson P50/R390/L800) into a larger Epson 1400/1500W/Artisan 1430 printer. Because I want use printable PVC cards, but there are only P50/R390/L800 type A ID card trays available ?

I have no A3 epson..
..but my CD tray for R285 (looks very similar to a p50) is around 15cm wide, and the tray for my r800 is much bigger, 20cm wide, almost a4 / letter size.
According to this review, the tray for epson 1400 is also big as a4. and iz looks similar to my r800, so it won't fit, I think:

PS: I have tried to abuse the tray path to print on stiff material with my r800, to my surprise it is possible, because the page setup allows some "normal" printing sizes while the card board is in the printer, in place of the tray.
But this is quite abnormal workaround... you have to cut the paper to the size of the tray, and then make a stack of that paper which is just as thick as the tray.
If it's thinner (what it mostly is) then the "platen gap" between nozzle plate and paper is too big and the print is soft... if the stack is thicker than the tray, the printhead my touch the paper or crash at the border..!

This way i can print on stiff aquarell paper, for arts reproductions. But I think this method isn't possible with soft material... and not for many copies of the same print, too complicated..

Ohh wel, I asked several sellers at aliexpress.com and there is NO Epson R1800/R1900/R2000/Epson 1400/1500W large size version for printing on PVC ID cards.

I ended with buying a Canon IP7250 printer, for which I can buy an Canon version for printing 2 cards simultaneously.
