Just wondering, would it be possible to "harvest" ink from OEM wide format cartridges and use it in a CISS for a desktop printer (R2000 for instance)?
We can get recently expired 700ml cartridges for the x900, x800 etc printers for about $150-$200 on ebay. That's more or less the same as a set of 8x100ml of ink from the more expensive third party ink manufacturers, like inkjetfly.
Is there any reason the wide format inks (like Ultrachrome HDR) wouldn't work or cause problems in a R2000?
All the colors (PK, MK, C, R, O, Y, M) minus the gloss optimizer of course, are used by large format printers as well, and a custom profile should take care of any color mismatches.
