I recently acquired an Epson Artisan 1430 that prints nozzle check lines notably thicker than my other 1430's. Has anyone had this happen before? What does it mean?
It seems to be OK to me. Did you already print picture on photo paper to see the results ? I could be the seller made several nozzle checks on the same paper to enhance the contrast, so the buyer can see the print head is ok. Is this made by you or the seller ?
This nozzle check was made by me. The other Artisan 1430's that I have print a thin lined nozzle check. I printed this printer text image on an 11x17 and the results seem ok. The lines still look thick to me. But that could be the printer test page image quality. Same ink cartridges in both printers.
You would need to measure and create icc-profiles on both printers and compare the resulting gamuts which would show if there are differences how colors are rendered and if there are differences with the max color saturation you can get on both printers
