If they gave you any interesting tidbits, can you pass them along without violating any confidences? Be sure to let us know how the ink and CIS work out.

Don't worry, I'll clear anything I learn with the supplier before I pass it on but I suspect it could be well worth the time..

I'll do my best to keep you posted..

Bearing in mind that I need to be careful and not indiscrete, here's a quick summary of what I found out...

1. There's a European supplier for inks from http://www.image-specialists.com/ in the form of gemini-colours.com.. That's just another company name for the European reseller listed on the Image Specialists site ie: refillink.biz

2. I didn't get a definitive answer (I didn't ask to be honest) as to whether these were the exact same inks as MIS but all the evidence from drc023 seems to point that way.

3. Gemini-colours have their own CIS kits and I'll be testing one out in due course.. I checked the sites for information and it's very limited.

4. I had a heart to heart about the state of the sites in general and Robert (the business owner) admitted they were built along time ago (before the time of databases :p) and there simply hadn't been much time to do anything about them. Apparently it's in hand so hopefully that will change.

5. At present though neither the medium/small format CIS market or the bulk ink market are really being pushed as the company concentrates more on the refilled/aftermarket cartridge side of things. Hence the reason it took so long to find them.

All in all, it was very informative and I'm looking forward to testing out some of the inks and doing some comparisons on cost, quality, etc... I'll be interested to see if they're pretty much the same product as MIS, from a purely selfish point of view, as a local supplier avoids a lot of the import duties, etc.. That won't help you folks in the US market so much though.

I'll keep you posted but I hope to encourage the company to take an interest in this forum and maybe post a few nuggets of information themselves, if there's time.
