I haven't been here for months, my 1400 had finally settled down. Every few days I did a nozzle check and it was perfect almost every time. Once in a while I'd do the simple head cleaning in the 1400 Maintenance menu. My inkset is Paul Roark's Eb6, where the carts include one with 100% black, the remaining five containing various dilutions of the black.

Lately my black cart shows as totally empty (in the nozzle check) after a refill and only one print, and I've done every cleaning trick in my repertoire. I did the under head shoe-shine, cleaned the K nipple, wiper blade, capping station. It only worked for one print. I even removed the filler plug for one cleaning and I immediately got a perfect K check but it too was only good for one print. The cleaning fluid was Piezoflush.

Thanks all!

Paul

Am meeting some success. I went through all the steps again that I mentioned earlier. I've learned that "technique" over the years. And another basic is quite simple: patience. Sometimes letting the printer sit a while works. Looking back, I think I had some serious air blockages and they worked themselves out. So far so good.

1) repeat repertoire, slowly, and 2) be patient.
