So I was looking for ink for this printer since legit ink cost way to much. I was checking out cityinkexpressk but I am in the United States and thought maybe there was something better from the U.S or just as good, I looked on Ebay but have no clue who to trust....

Anyone have experience with any inks? I just want something not TO expensive and that is of decent quality.

I'm sure Precision Colors on eBay will have what you need, it is run by mikling on this forum.

I just looked at them, they look good, Is it hard to convert the cartridges? What id some are still filled? Like my Green is full full.

Also the Pixma 9000 ink works in 9000 MKII right? Also are the refill counts correct, not sure how much to get honestly.

I have no idea about the specifics of your printer or its ink requirements and I don't know what you mean when you ask about converting the cartridges. I don't worry about mixing inks between the original Canon ink and whatever ink I'm refilling but other people say you should purge all your cartridges before making the switch.

I'm sure mikling will answer your specific questions next time he's on.

I use the Precision Colors inks in my pro 9000 mk2 & it's OK to mix your new refill ink with the Canon inks so as your cartridges run out just refill them with your new Precision color inks. There are a few other very good quality inks from RJetec, Hobbicolors, Inkjetcarts & a few others, a search here on these forums should get you lots of info on the recommended inks but you can't go wrong with Precision Colors.
The cartridges are reasonably easy to make ready for refilling & once you have the holed bored in the cartridge to enable the refilling every fill up after that is a breeze. Have a look here & on YouTube for videos for cartridge refilling so you can get an idea what's involved. The ink level indicator is fairly accurate for our purposes but I think it only measures in quarters, like 3/4 full 1/2 full & 1/4 full then empty.

I am assuming by "convert" you mean refill the original cartridges that came with your 9000.

There are two main methods of filling, top fill, and the German method AKA Durchstich.

Refilling is easy, but you must read, read, and read some more from the forum in order to understand the methods, which are quite easy once you known how!

Use the search facility on the forum. There are also many videos on the net that show the two processes, search google for "refill cli-8 cartridge"

Many people refill the 9000 MKII. I have used Image Specialsts ink and the prints are great. With regard to the green and red, mine are still original but they work OK with the refilled carts. Ideally you should have all carts with one ink but I'm happy to use the red and green until it's ready for refill. Some people empty the originals and refill them all.

You will soon get hang of it.

Good luck.

Unless you are planning on doing a lot of printing, I would go with the 16 oz sizes for most colors but get 32 oz for photo cyan or photo magenta.

My former Canon i9950 (the non-chipped version of the Pro 9000) was fed with Hobbicolors UW-8 ink and I was more than pleased with the very vivid prints and most importantly the satisfactory fade resistance (Canon is still better). If you like very vivid prints, than go with Hobbicolors UW-8 ink, else go with Image Specialists ink, which is much closer to original Canon CLI-8 in terms of equal colour reproduction.
