Anniversary update on Standard Lamp Mark V..

The new Mark 6 will take many months to complete and having a second backup printer on hand is essential, so I decided to get a new Ender 3 as back up until I can get the CR-10 back into action.. Moving on to my new Water Pump..

I now have this printer a week or so and am trying to get to grips with it..

It can prints nearly as fast as Harry Potters magic wand, but its dam annoying because it shakes and wobbles so much it’s like a Feckin poltergeist in the shed, it causes loads of things to fall off their shelves, stuff not even near the printer.. (60% faster)

It runs at very high temperatures too, and so far I can’t find a way to reduce them down to a safer level, Nozzle at 220c and the bed at 65c, I even managed to get my first head clog, I don’t know how or why but it hasn’t done it since..

Do I like the this printer, ! I might if I knew how to control it better, but as of now definitely no, but don’t get me wrong it prints really great and it is far better than what I’ve had before, but I don’t really need that type quality..

Would I buy it again if I had a choice, most likely not, just give me a CR-10 anytime, it’s just not my kind of printer, and I haven’t tried it yet on a two colour job, which I reckon would be a disaster trying to hold the nozzle in position on change over..

I totally hear what you are saying! I've definitely watched a lot of videos of people talking about how loud and rumbly a lot of these fast printers can be.

Fast printers can run slower. It's up to the user to set the speeds. People seems so obsessed about speed. that they don't care about quality and reliability.

Nevertheless, big printers need a very sturdy and steady bench to sit on and the sides/rear of the machine should be braced against the walls, whenever it's possible. For what The Hat says, this Creality needs a lot of dampening.
I'm lucky enough to have a nice square corner in my office for my Voron 350. I left the poor thing no chances for rumbling and shaking, (click on the images to see full size )

My problem so far.. I am unable to slow the printer down, at the same time the print quality is second to none, and as far as reliability goes, well that’s the big problem, I can’t see this printer lasting any length of time at the speed it prints right now..

I’ve seen printers run fast but this Feckin thing is ridiculous, its excessively fast, hence the vibrations, I’m learning to live with the heat issue, but I want to slow this beast down to a more reasonable output..

I don’t care if a prints takes 2 or 3 days to complete, I can wait, but I wouldn’t be able to leave this thing running over night, simply because I can’t control it so I don’t trust it..

My CR-10 is having an issue extruding filament, I have tried everything and nothing has worked so far, I have changed the motor, the cable, the mother board and screen with new items and I get the same result, it extrudes 4mm of filament and then stops..

It seems a pity to dump the printer all because I can’t diagnose this simple issue, is it a hardware or software problem or both ? that is the question..

This printer has some miles on the clock, but nowhere near the amount that the other CR-10 has and its purring away without an issue..

P.S. I’m having a problem coming to grips with the newer Slicer that was provided with the new printer and this new printer won’t work with my older Slicers..

There are plans in the new year for her replacement, much more improved and a different colour..

So Johnny has become Jeanie now- Its a sign of the times we live in
