Ok so looks as if I may have done some damage....is there anything I can do? The reason I decided to abandon ink monitoring was that I found it inaccurate.
Thanks for the reply. I had presumed that it was a clog in the printhead but from what you say am I right in thinking now that it could actually be the fault of the cartridge? I do have other empty cartridges so I can fill another with magenta and give that a go. I no longer rely on the chip as...
I have a problem with the magenta on my Pixma 4850. I have tried Propanyl to no effect. Was thinking of filling a spare cartridge with propanyl and running through loads of magenta prints. Is this a good idea?
Hi and thanks for the reply.
Jamming isn't really an accurate description as what is happening is that one or as many as four or five pieces of paper together are simply running straight through the machine without printing and then the notification of jamming comes on. Sometimes a single paper...
I love my ip4850 but recently have experienced frequent paper jamming with photo paper. I normally use Costco Kirkland Signature glossy paper which I find great and very reasonably priced and always load by the rear tray (think I have lost the front tray). I have done roller cleaning but the...
Oh, I just made a portrait and landscape profile for each of the sizes I normally print and saved them. That way I thought it would save my altering anything other than selecting the one I want.
@PeterBJ. Well I am a happy bunny......uninstalled and reinstalled printer programme and everything is now sweet. Used your colour correction picture and sure enough came to the same conclusion as you....M+30! Thanks again.
@PeterBJ . Thanks for the zip file which I will definitely put to use once I can solve the mystery as to why the colour correction sliders don't seem to be working. No matter how much I slide them nothing appears to change! Maybe it is a glitch in the Canon programme so might have to resort to...
Just found this thread as I am having the same problem of a green tint....Trying to manually adjust the colours on my Canon ip4850 but doesn't seem to be working at all. I save the settings and make sure I am clicking on to the profile prior to printing but the print is no different. Don't think...
Having now gone over to a new computer with Windows 10 I need to sort out my printer.
First of all, I have run the original accompanying software but see there have been driver updates since July last year (two of them). Sadly Canon don't seem to want to offer much in the way of advice as to...
I stupidly refilled pigment ink into the other black cartridge. Will it be OK to just run the ink out by using it on monochrome stuff and then refilling with correct ink? My printer is an ip4850. Thanks.
Hi Panos...thanks for your interest. Please look at my response to our friend ghwellsjr for further info. I did find the update that you refer to but am somewhat concerned that it may not be the same as the one deleted had "8.0.50727.4053" tagged to the end and was much less than the 6mb. Then...
Hi and thanks for the response. I was very careful to follow the installation procedure to the letter sadly without the hoped for result. Strangely, the problem is on my XP which is on one drive whilst I have Windows 7 on the other drive of my dual boot system and the Canon programme runs on...
As much as I like the printer, ever since I installed the software I get a message saying (in part) "CRT not initialized". Click OK and just get on with printing only for the message to reappear later. I have been in touch with Canon who just say it is nothing to do with them. Thanks Canon...
Thanks for the reply. Don't think it is an issue with leaking as so little came out....thinking on the line that the sponge was totally dried and therefore quick to absorb all the ink I put into the reservoir. Tomorrow I'll take off the seal and fill again and see what happens. Hey ho, at least...
Having just refilled these recently acquired carts (and rechipped them for use in my ip4850) am surprised that on a couple the reservoir level sank to zilch in no time flat without them being used. Never seen a reservoir empty so quick. Top-filled and with only a little leakage as one would...
ROFLMAO? ROFLMAO?? ROFLMAO???
The Oxford English Dictionary was useless but thankfully Wikipedia came to my rescue!
It's OK for you young guys but us oldies are easily thrown! :lau
Nope, you are wrong .....ejecting out of and into...yes....ejecting (from where?) into ....(where) ...no, no, no. But then we all know what is meant and it really is of little consequence.
Goes to prove our two countries are still divided by a common language.....OURS!
But we still love you!
