Thanks for the information... I will save it and hold it in my ever growing "printer recovery" archive.
I was able to get the printer back, because this printer was used as a refill printer for a short time, but the yellow tank kept clogging, and continued the clogging very quickly after I...
Hey all, it's been a while since I last posted, and this isn't about refill, since it's about a printer that I stopped refilling, but let me shorten this and get on with it.
It's the aforementioned Canon MG6220, which has become my main disk printer, and I used it quite often. It seems to be...
It really hurts my heart, but for me, without applying many dollars of repair bills, for now, I am out of refilling with multiple (re)filled tanks sitting in my resource bin.
My favorite of all... IP4920 printer just errored out on the absorber tray reset... I waited too long and it went to...
I'm supposing Precision Colors would be an acceptable alternative for all my CLI 250/251 refill tanks and resetters. I figured Canon would fix a way to squelch our little play house.
So far the IP4920 sat down two more times, but came right back the first, and just to make sure about...
For anyone who hasn't seen my recent query, I have just purchased a Canon IP7220 printer, which uses the CLI-250/251 ink tanks. Between my IP4920 and MG6220 printers refilling inks is a mixed bag. The IP4920 works very well, but the MG6220 needs cleaning and print head flushing after nearly...
Yes, that diagnosis was about one of my printers when I called "support". I'm sure they wanted me to go to a repair shop and have me prepped for the expense... but they sell these things too cheaply, and I just bought another one. I really liked my IP8500, as well as this IP4920, so I would pop...
I take no credit for making this thing work again... might have been my fault that it quit, but I don't know that either. This started with me swapping out four tanks at the same time... I was hoping to avoid all the self cleaning cycles that happen when changing the tanks gradually. I am pretty...
Thanks for the warning, I'm in "careful" mode, now. Since the IP4920 has been such a good working refill printer, I have procured the phone number from Canon Support for the purposes of buying another print head, if it fits my pricing profile. I won't be totally crazy, but a good working printer...
Well, here's an update for you. Figuring the $75 printer at B&H to be a good deal, I made the purchase. I decommissioned my IP4920 and put it away in another room.
This morning, Canon Support contacted me with some troubleshooting suggestions, a bit late, but still welcome. I put the printer...
Wow, it must be built into the printhead that out of printer cleanings are limited... I have cleaned that one many times, and so far, it has always come back for me.
Talk about a conundrum... the Pro-100 has lost part of its rebate package... luckily it's only the smaller one. For me it would...
I have been printing along and not having any problems that stopped me, so it's been a long spell since my last post... but now, I think Canon may make me change brands with their new lineup.
I was printing disks, and four of my refill inks on my iP 4920 were nearing their change time, so I...
Hello again,
I can only say one thing.... Holy Cow... whodathawtit? I just removed the decommissioned IP 4700 from the back bedroom, where it's been used as a storage surface. I connected it to my main video editing computer in place of my old almost unused IP 8500 and ran a nozzle check. It...
This is about what happened to my IP 4700, if my memory is working correctly. The MG 6220 had a full tank of yellow, when it started malfunctioning... it didn't show streaky dryness, just went straight to the total absence of yellow. I have very seldom allowed my tanks to go completely dry. It...
Thanks Mr. Hat
I suppose I could post a nozzle check, but I think I can describe it pretty well, and save the forum bandwidth. It looks perfect, except for the total lack of yellow ink. I did my own yellow-only check, and got a clean sheet of paper. I have changed the yellow tank for another...
I now have two printers on "injured reserve" status. Both apparently have clogged printheads. After about six Deep Cleanings on my MG 6220, I can no longer print anything that has any yellow content, without it being overly blue or red. My IP 4700 has been out of commission for similar reasons...
That's the specific problem I was trying to solve when I started this thread. Not much makes sense, even now. If you read back, over my earlier comments about this problem, I reset my other refills at the onset of this problem, with that same resetter, and had no problem getting a good reset...
Thanks jtoolman,
I must be learning... I have a brand new OEM tank, and almost by accident I have the old one back and working. That's a win/win, no matter how it happened.
I agree, and that's why I thanked everyone, but at that point I was about to give up further testing. As far as orientation, I'm still not so sure that was the problem... as I indicated, the chip was pretty well covered in yellow ink, and during that time, the chip never responded... and believe...
