Staples photo plus gloss with Canon MX870

Thanks for the response, and sorry about the late response, I was expecting an email alert and didn't realize that I didn't subscribe. It is not ink puddling, it just feels like a low quality print. In fact, if I use a magnifying glass and view the print, it feels somewhat like a newspaper...

Staples photo plus gloss with Canon MX870

My apologies if I am missing an old thread, I didn't find anything when I googled. I am trying to find the best settings for this paper on MX870 printer. I tried "Glossy Photo Paper" with standard and high resolution and both gave a grainy print. Before I print a whole lot of pictures and waste...

MP780 persistent Check Printer Press [OK] message

My happiness was short lived :( Right after printing 4 small pictures, I got the same message again, so I tried pressing OK without actually doing anything and it went away. I then printed one more picture and now the message is back and is persistent. I can actually see the pads on the far...

MP780 persistent Check Printer Press [OK] message

I finally found enough time to fix my printer. I followed the instructions at the German page pointed to me in one of the earlier posts (I used both google and bablefish translations) and disassembled the printer to look at the waste ink tank and any obstructions. What I found is that the waste...

If this happens to be the case, what is the solution? Challenging task of cleaning the pads?

MP780 persistent Check Printer Press [OK] message

Nope, as soon as I hit COPY key, I get an error beep and the message INVALID KEY/SETTING is displayed. However, taking your posts as a guide, I did further searches and found the exact steps to enter service mode for MP780. Here are the steps e.g., to do a waste ink counter reset (from this...

MP780 persistent Check Printer Press [OK] message

Thanks embguy for the response. I tried to follow the steps to get into the service mode, but after trying about 10 times with different speeds, I still didn't succeed. I found another post on the internet with similar steps for canon ip4200 in which it indicated that the resume/cancel button...

MP780 persistent Check Printer Press [OK] message

I was copying a few pages using ADF and when it was done, the printer started giving this message. I checked for any paper jams in all the places that the manual suggests and didn't find any. The manual specifically has the below two reasons for this specific message: I was able move the ink...

help flushing stubborn black ink from canon oem carts

What I am worried is about dried and clogged ink that is not getting dissolved with water and partially obstructing the flow of ink. Even though the water is flowing now, is the ink flow going to be smooth enough is what I am trying to determine. May be I can try soaking them in windex and see...

help flushing stubborn black ink from canon oem carts

Could you give me an idea of how fast the water would drip if the vent and the plastic ball over the spongeless compartment open? May be that can give me more confidence that my cartridge is clean enough for refilling? Thank you.

help flushing stubborn black ink from canon oem carts

Steve, since this is the first time I am refilling (bought the empties on ebay), I didn't have a choice, I don't even know for how long they have been sitting empty. Is it then preferable to reuse the current cartridge that still has a few drops of ink in it, though it is not an oem cartridge...

help flushing stubborn black ink from canon oem carts

tigerwan, thank you so much for your response. I must have wasted a quite a few hours trying to get the sponges to white and went through a lot of trouble delaying prints etc. to conserve ink in the last cart I had while trying to get a cart ready for refill. Thanks again.

help flushing stubborn black ink from canon oem carts

I bought a few sets of OEM empty carts for my canon MP780 printer and following several guides here, I successfully flushed a few carts. The sponges came complete or very close to white and I refilled and have been using them well. I replaced all but the BCI-3BK cart this way, as I still had ink...
