I use the R1800 and have great success using Monaco EZcolor program to profile my inks and papers. Iwould also advise using Qimage - www.ddisoftware.com/qimage/ to use for printing.
Just a follow up on the test of "Xprint" compatible ink I mentioned above. I have had the test print in the southern exposed window now for about 60 days and the is no color fading or change. There may be an insignificant lessening of saturation but almost imperceptible to the eye. I have had no...
Regarding "Xprint" compatible ink from www.clickinks.com. I have now had a test sample in a southern exposed window, diffused sunlight, for 11 days. I printed two copies of the same test print on one sheet of photo paper and covered one copy with black paper. I have checked daily and to date I...
I recently found Xprint ink cartridges for the Epson R1800 sold by www.clickinks.com. They advertise them as pigment based inks. I have used them
for about one week now and find them to be a suitable replacement for OEM ink. The color is close to Epson but after making ICC profiles for my most...

At the present time I use Monaco EZ Color or Profile Prism Software for profiling. I also use the Monaco Optix with EZ Color for Monitor Calibration. Profile Prism just released a new version of their software and I feel that it gives the more accurate printer profile of the two. Both require a...
If you want a great media, try your i9900 with inkjet canvas. I have used Fredrix for 8x10 and 11x17. For 13x19 I have used Inkpress
Canvas. I profiled Nectron Ink and both canvas medias and the final results are spectacular. I think my cost were not much higher than
a top grade inkjet photo...
I found this program browsing the web and tried it. I am very impressed with it. Easier to use than Photoshop for general use
photo editing. Download from http://www.photofiltre.com/
Please post your opinion of it.
I refilled my new Hobbicolor cartridges today and was pleasantly surprised with the ease of doing it. I simply poured the ink from the Hobbicolor 2 oz. bottles into the squeeze bottles. I then remove the screws in the cartridges and filled each cartridge about 1/4 full. I then went
back and...
I found that the needles are soft enough to carefully bend them to about 60 Degrees. This should make it easier to control flow
into the cartridges. As I started to set up for refilling I had an idea for a fixture to make working a little easier. I still need to give it a couple coatsof...
I found this site (http://www.newark.com/NewarkWebCommerce/newark/en_US/endecaSearch/partDetail.jsp?SKU=97H7866&N=0 ) on Google search and have ordered 10 to try. They are about $0.57 each plus $5.00 second day ship. I will post my appraisal of them when I receive them.
I just ordered a bag of ten of these and some needles. I will post results of use after I try them.

I have just filled my cartridges with HobbiColor inks on a Canon i9900 printer and I was amazed at the photo print outs. I made profiles for the HobbiColor ink and both Kirkland Glossy and Ilford Printasia Pearl paper. I believe that this ink does as well or better than Canon inks. This...
