I tried to configure a Lexmark Z2390 printer to my DELL Dimension E520, running under Linux (kubuntu). but, nothing happened, meaning no configuration occurred and the printer was not installed. Can anyone explain this. N.B. I installed an Epson printer without any problems.

A friend recently refilled his printer cartridge (Lexmark) but the printer will not print - it seems to want another cart. He noticed that a file Lx-Cats contains files that contain cartID's and maxcartPages. If he changed these would the printer accept the refilled cart? Thanks
