Got it !! My printer prints works like it was new. I injected 4 more ml of ink, all on the printer head end of the cart...leaked very little. Blew lightly through the refill hole until a small amount of ink came out, performed a head cleaning & then let the cart sit for a couple of hours. I may...
Thanks again...I never let my carts run out of ink. When they are getting low, it only takes a few minutes to refill them. I think I'll be buying a priming tool, 4.95 is not a big investment.
Below 50% , wow ! I think I would be money ahead just going out & buy a new one. I must have been lucky, I used the same carts for over 2 years that came in a Canon MX 300...I have no idea how many times I refilled them, but I sure got my monies worth. I'll have to look into that vacuum tool. I...
I refilled the hp 21 cart on my wife's hp 2210 printer with 5 ml pigmented blk ink. Blotted the head with a paper towel & did a head cleaning... everything looked great. Print is dark & not streaked. After 4 or 5 hrs of sitting, the print was very light, I cleaned the head & it looked good...
The bulk ink is sold by inksell.com...I cannot tell you who the manufacturer is. It does state "pigment ink"
This is the method I use with a few additional steps.

1. place the bottom half of the cart in a small plastic bag...
I have been having trouble with Canon PG-40 black cartridges...all have acted like the heads were plugged shortly after refilling them. Prior to being refilled, they all worked great, but were getting low on ink. These were OEM carts, so they hadn't exceeded their life expendency . With a little...
I have only a little experience at filling carts, but why can't you use your black OEM cart until it indicates almost out of ink ? Pull the cart, inject slowly about 8 ml of ink, wait a couple of hours, reinstall it, do a head cleaning & you should be good to go for awhile. This method has...
Ok, I'm confused.. Are Canon cartridges normally manufactured using pigment ink ? I just bought some black ink for filling pg-40s & pg-210s . "Inksell" said that the pigment type was the correct type. Were they wrong ?

Hey thanks Tudor..It's no wonder that carts have so many problems. If I was evaluating the whole inkjet idea, I would say that "it will never work"!

I have yet to encounter a clear cart, consequently I have been trying to figure out what the interior of a cart looks like. I have been filling PG-40s & CL-41s with pretty good luck. A picture of the interior of a cart & how it all works would explain a lot to me.
Thanks,
Roger
Thanks PeterB for your great reply to my question. You went to a lot of trouble & I appreciate it. This may be quite helpful to other cart refillers.

The label on the cart covered any vent hole that may have existed...My concern is, if the vent hole is open & the ink is exposed to the air, won't this speed up the drying out of any ink inside of the cart ? Just seems logical to me.
Thanks,
Roger
This is a very basic question, but I have read conflicting instructions. should the drilled refill hole be sealed or left open after refilling the cart ?

I have had a canon MX300 for about 18 months & have refilled the original carts many times. The 1st time that the ink ran low, the alarm light came on & a warning came up when I tried printing. After that, I held the "reset" button down for about 10 seconds, the alarm light went out &...
I have several old HP cartridges which have been sitting around & are all dried out. How do you go about flushing them out ? Use distilled water ? Will soaking them over a long period of time clear the nozzels ? How can I tell if the little heating elements are burned out ? Any help will be...
