new Canon IP4500 nozzle check on C (Cyan) shows squares, what to do?
I scanned the nozzle check so you can see what it looks like. The scan looses a little quality due to resizing and compression, but hopefully you will still be able to see the problem.
The problem is with C (Cyan), it shows...
Thank you all so much for your very thoughful and informative replies. So hopefully, all is well with our printer.

new IP4500 time to replace CLI-8M/Y/C, but CLI-8Bk is still FULL, Why?
We have a new Canon IP4500 printer, and it is working great! We are still on our original cartridges, although we have a set of new Canon Cartridges onhand. I have two questions.
1) We are getting a low-ink warning message...
OutOFtheinkwell, Hi! I have a i960 too; I faced the same decision a few months ago.
I considered...
o new ip6000D - I ruled it out because I didn't want the extra complexities of the LCD, etc.
o new ip4300 - I ruled it out because of the chipped carts. I could cope with refilling the chipped...
Amazing, that's what I thought too. I just kept thinking that it seemed like it wasn't recognizing the code. And then I found Bill's post. Sure hope it works for you.
See my post #6 (in this thread) this link for a link to a place to buy a service manual cheap.
I also found this, both posts...
Intuitively, I would disconnect the interface (parallel or USB) cable from the back of the printer while troubleshooting this problem. These printers are designed to be serviced without being connected to a printer. I read that with these printers it sometimes helps to disconnect the power cord...
This post is an attempt to consolidate what is known about this problem.
Trigger 37 in Post #17 in this link tells us more about his problem...
Trigger, you are welcome. It's good to know that you find my posts helpful.

Patrick, I did a google search on S630 and waste and found a problem/solution for a S600 printer that just might fix your S630 too. Maybe you've already bought a new printer and don't want to try this, but just in case you do, I wanted to share this with you.
On FixYourOwnPrinter.com Inkjet...
Is it possible that you got a bad new print head that just happens to have a problem with the cyan channel? While it seems unlikely, it does not seem impossible, right? So if you call them to say you got a head that does not print cyan, they would give you an RMA and then test it, if it is bad...
Hi there, since no one has replied, I'll offer some food for thought. Sorry, I don't have a recommendation.
Can you buy prefilled compatible ink cartridges for Lexmark x1270?
I checked alotofthings.com and they don't list this printer.
Does Lexmark x1270 printer use ink cartridges with chips...
You are welcome. Good work on checking everything!
It's possible that the printer suffered some electrical damage.
Happy shopping. Are you going to get another Canon? The Canon IP4300 seems to be the most popular one now. Hope you'll let us know what you decide upon for a new printer.

Post #159: A SUMMARY of various screws used to seal the refill hole
Tyro, I came across these posts and it reminded me of your Magenta problem which has a regular pattern vs. a random pattern. These posts provide additional check points that might resolve your problem.

It appears you could be dealing with two problems, a print head problem (7 blinks in orange) and a waste reset problem (8 blinks in orange). If it were me, I would try to resolve the print head problem first. This post is about resolving the print head problem.
Take a deep breath, try to work...

Can you perform (via Service Mode) the Service/Factory test printout (aka Extended Nozzle Check)? If so, this would tell us the printer is working, basically anyway, and it would tell us the D value. The D=__ value appears on the top line of this printout; it is the...
Please give us details. It's hard to tell if you mean it no longer powers on or just how far it gets in the power up process.

Did you remove the print head first? If not, remove it and enter the reset code again.
