Hello Bithead. First off, I'm glad that fix worked.
Aside from that, here's how I look at it..... I personally wouldn't care if I had clogged print heads, busted rollers, warped paper beds, etc, etc, etc. I simply look at the print, and if looks good, it's all good :-) In my opinion, their is...
Hello Bithead. Try this....
Take a 3" x 3" Post it (you know, the little square note pads with a 3/4" adhesive strip across the back) and secure it to the back side, of the top right of your photo paper, so that it is even with the right side of the paper (as your looking at it in the printer)...
I don't believe after market carts are available for either one of these printers, therefore, I could not afford to use, nor would I buy, either of these.

Wow ! That is great news, and thank you very much for that link 4tunet ! I will save that in my "printer" favorites folder right now ! .....and only $49.95 too ! Coool !
Peace,
Fish
Thank you Grandad. As much as I hate to admit it, I have to believe you are right :-(
Well, my iP6000D is only a few months old, but even so, I have been looking into the availability of a replacement head for it. I found this place...
Given only the following two choices;
A) That I buy their printer, and use after market ink and paper, or....
B) That I don't buy their printer at all ???
{in other words, do they not make ANY profit whatsoever from the printer itself ?}
Because that, ladies and gentlemen, are the only...
first off, the girl over there (I'm sorry, I missed her name) is such a sweet heart to talk to, that this in itself made it worth the call :-)
She said that they basically recommend Epson printers to people who should ask, although they sell carts for most major brands. She said that changing...
been a while since I stopped by last, and I was just curious.....
Are there any "new" models (or, old models which are still in production) of Canon printers (preferably which use bci-6 carts, since I always have quite a few on hand) available ?
If not, then how about any brand of good...
Well yes, they are WAAAY too expensive, especially for a poor guy like me..... and yes, they are making a sickening profit off of those things....
However, they are sure made to exacting standards, and I just can't believe how many prints I get from those OEM's ! I mean, I can't explain why it...
The Kodak paper didn't work well for me. It just looked really flat, and dull. No punch at all. You could probably play around with your ink volume settings and / or profiles, and correct this, but it was easier for me just to try something else.
The papers which have worked well on my i960...
Hello Inkjetmaster. Very interesting reading, especially when two guys who both know 10 X's as much about printers as I do, disagree on things like 6 or 8 colors, and about lighted carts....
Only one question; Did you mean to say, "Magenta and Photo Black" ? ....or was that supposed to be...
Hello oldman1. Well, they are the same BCI carts that are used in the i960, and some other Canon printers, so sure, they can be refilled. But personally speaking, I got tired of refilling, and now opt for aftermarket carts. Still a good $$$ savings, albeit, not quite as good as refilling...
Ahhhh !!! I did jinx myself ! (well, I know this is not major)
But I just found out that my iP6000D will not "auto-power" on or off :-( So then, the only way I could use the "autoprint" program, is to leave the printer turned on all the time ! ......which to me sounds like something which...
Thank you fotofreek. That is a great suggestion. That thought never crossed my mind.... but yes, it would be easy to shrink, and lighten, one of the test print images supplied with "autoprint".
Again though, the nozzle check pattern with easy photo print...... and the test print that comes...
Hope I'm not going to jinx myself here, but so far, I couldn't ask for anything more !
I guess my i960 used to print "as good" when it was printing at its very best.... but it had a bit of a banding issue at times, especially with blue skies.
Plus, I used to have to do the old "post it" stuck...
Hey Websnail, or anybody, one more question.....
I have installed the "autoprint" program, but I would like to use the "nozzle check" pattern that comes up when I use the Canon Easy photo print program, as I believe it has got to use a lot less ink than the patterns supplied with "autoprint"...
Okay, I got my Canon iP6000D this morning, and just finished setting it up. First test print right out of the gate is just gorgeous. Geeez, did I ever need that "printing fix" in a bad way ! :-)
I thought about using the partly used G&G carts out of my i960.... but then I thought, "That just...
Thank you very much guys.
Hey websnail, that's just what I was hoping for. I will check out this link, and see if I can make it work for me. BTW, I would imagine that if you could make something like this run automatically every day, then it shouldn't be hard to make it run every other...
I had a brainstorm today.......
Neil has repeatedly talked of the importance, of using our printers on a regular basis, so that the ports do not have a chance to dry out, and clog. He says at least every other day. Now I don't know about the rest of you, but the way I am, I might use my printer...
