Do pigment inks fade slower than dye inks ?

Personally I think the main reason why such blanket statements need revisiting and reviewing is because what constituted a "dye" versus a "pigment" has changed enormously in the last 10+ years, particularly in the last 6 or so. Dye inks are no longer the sole domain of plant/bio' based...

    P900 porous sponge(pad) replacement?

*Psst...* try not to confuse the old folk with multiple printer models... They get themselves all worked up and we have to call the nurse for the sedatives... ;)

    No show not good..

Given the sheer detail and level of research that must go into developing that level of understanding I'd guess he has limited time to spend schmoozing on third party sites. Of course I can't speak to his own priorities but time sure is at a premium.

    Project? - i1Pro cradle needed

I gave up with the X-rite software pretty much immediately as it crashed my PC (first time in forever) and the newest version won't even install due to corrupted files. If you're happy to play with ArgyllCMS though the tools work great.

ArgyllCMS + Windows 10: The computer says NO !!!!!

Just as a follow up... I found you can't install the Argyll CMS driver when you already have an official driver installed for your existing device (eg: i1Pro). I could only install the Argyll driver once I'd uninstalled and deleted the official (X-rite) driver for my i1Pro and then it would...

A basic guide (see post #1) to setting up ARGYLL CMS profiling on your computer

Couple of things that may already be in this thread (but I missed) and others that aren't so I thought I'd share while I have the info in my noggin. 1. Getting hold of the AdobeRGB1998.icc is an exercise in groundhog day frustration if you try the official channels. This workaround via the...

    Project? - i1Pro cradle needed

The portrait mode suggestion solved my problem and leaves me feeling a little sheepish but then hey, if you can't fall on your face occasionally you aren't human right?... :hu Anyway, I thought I'd share the small adjustments I made to make the manual scanning process a little easier, in case...

    Project? - i1Pro cradle needed

Just had a look at the ArgyllCMS docs and can't find how to do that but it does feel a little like you just slapped me upside the head to create a very effective "Doh!" moment. :he I'm looking now but do you have a link or cmd line example of how I'd do that? EDIT: Found it!! Why on earth do...

    Project? - i1Pro cradle needed

Argyll CMS... Specifically because I want to be able to share the profiles without the licensing restrictions that iProfiler include... iProfiler also appears to be broken on my OS (win10). I did consider it but those things are EXPENSIVE! Just out of interest, how much did you get yours for...

    Project? - i1Pro cradle needed

Never thought I'd be posting in the 3D printing forums but here I am, cap in hand, eating my words (enjoy it while it lasts!)... I've found myself digging out my i1 Pro1 profiling tool but am getting very frustrated with the limitations and poor design of the profiling jig that holds the i1 Pro...

Best place to buy QY6-0084 print head for Canon Pro 100

Tbh, I thought the same but the legal position that Canon has been taking seems to indicate that someone is selling off counterfeit units, so you do have to wonder if that's the entire market. After all, how would these companies be getting hold of used units to refurbish them?

Best place to buy QY6-0084 print head for Canon Pro 100

Just a quick note regards the original topic... Canon recently started legal proceedings against sellers of "counterfeit items" which appears to include printheads so this may explain why so many of the supposed OEM heads on fleabay, etc... are failing... So, as noted with a few other folk...

    Constructive Crit' please

I try to avoid too much repeated intro' as it's a fast track to losing the short attention span crowd but I take your point that an intro' video might be worth doing. The bit about pre-prep' on what tools needed, etc... is definitely a good idea though... and yes agree about well lit. A friend...

    Constructive Crit' please

At the risk of sounding like I'm trying to do a little underhand promotion (given that this my post is about my OctoInkjet YouTube channel) I'd like to get some warts and all reviews of the current content so that I can improve pretty much everything from how I tackle the filming, setup and...

    Rihac inks for pro 9000

Rihac have been around for a very long time... Not sure about their inks and I'd be biased anyway ;) but they've stayed the course for more than a decade plus..

Do you guys have a method for resealing non-printhead cartridges?

Definitely aluminium tape on a dry surface... works a treat... Be warned though... the cheap knock off stuff is actually better as it's not quite as strong a seal as the branded 3M or similar. The latter grips on like it's on a cliff face :)

    L1800 error codes

I "think" (and be prepared for me to get this wrong) it's actually an 0x71 error in which case it's this: If my memory isn't completely shot I think the issue is likely one of the following: Something is blocking the printhead ability to get back into it's parked position: Check for any...

Canon InkTanks and the Notorious Air in tube issue

I've be a bit wary of using a syringe directly via the port as you might stretch it a bit too much. Use of a tapered plastic needle/tip as an adapter would provide a good seal. You would probably need to cut the length down to get a good fit but it wouldn't stretch the port too much and...

Canon InkTanks and the Notorious Air in tube issue

Hmm... I'll see if I can recreate that issue on the G2500 when I get a chance... As a general rule, moving any CIS equipped printer can result in pressure changes to/from the printhead so care to keep everything level is needed. I'll report back as/when I get a chance to play... chances are...
