    Setting default on MG5300

Me again! I've just found how to do it on a Mac. It's a bit convoluted. You have to open the print dialog box by pretending to print something (!). When the print dialog box appears, you input your settings - so I set it for photo paper - then click on the Presets window. In the drop-down menu...

    Setting default on MG5300

Me again! The big black cartridge on my MG5300 has run out and I've ordered another but I know I can print OK using the photo paper setting in the print dialog box. Can I fix this setting as default until my cartridge arrives? Thanks Sunnyjohn

    iP7250 single white line

Thank you for your reply, Stratman. I disconnected and reconnected the printer and it is now printing perfectly! I assume therefore that it was a software problem. Thank you again and apologies for troubling you!

    iP7250 single white line

It's been some time since I've been here - good news because my three printers have been working well. Now, however, I have a problem with my iP7250. This one has no big black cartridge because I was unable to unblock the channel but it works fine when selecting photo papers. Yesterday, though...

Official PK Poll - Is there any future in refilling?

Yes. It's a choice. Those that wish to can use refilling. I would presume this would be the case for folks who are in the design or photography business and use a lot of ink. For the likes of me who print occasionally, it's not worth the trouble, so I'm happy to continue to use cartridges.

    Printer iP address

I'm sorry - I'm not making myself very clear. 1. The printer won't print from the big black cartridge because the head is blocked. 2. It is not possible to set the printer to colour mode when printing out the iP address using the six flashes system because the printer automatically defaults to...

    Printer iP address

I have an iMac running El Capitan and up-to-date. I'm using Canon's own network set-up tool. My router does not have a WPS button.

    Printer iP address

The set-up instructions specifically ask for the printer's iP address:

    Printer iP address

Thanks for your prompt reply. Unfortunately, I'm not able to set preferences because the printer network information sheet is printed out automatically after you've released the button following the six flashes. My printer is set by default to print in colour mode, that is, not using the big...

    Printer iP address

Apologies if this has already been answered. I have a Canon iP7250. I want to use it wirelessly and to do that I need its iP address. to get that, you hold the button and allow it to flash six times, release and the network configurations are then printed. Just one problem for me. The large...

    Loss of yellow

Amazingly the yellow has come back! Still no luck from the big black cartridge but at least now I can print in full colour. You just never know . . . !

    Loss of yellow

Thanks, both of you. I knew it was something simple.I now have a wonderful B/W printer . . . Unfortunately, I fear, the loss of the yellow was my fault and is almost certainly a damaged electrical connection due to my mishandling of the head. The problem with the black appears to be...

    Loss of yellow

OK - just to come up-to-date. I followed your instructions to the letter but, alas, the black did not come back and now, you were right, the yellow has disappeared altogether. What I'll do now is run it as a black and white printer. How do I get it to default to the standard black cartridge and...

    Loss of yellow

Many thanks for your quick and detailed reply. I will indeed give it a go as you suggested. I have in fact left the back glossy strip free so I can easily remove the top anyway. I found it really difficult to get the head out with the top on, but no problem with it removed. Just my clumsiness, I...

    Loss of yellow

I have a Canon Pixma iP7250 and I'm using Canon carts. Because I've only used it for colour printing, the large black nozzle has blocked up. In my attempt to remove the printhead, I wonder if I might have damaged the yellow nozzle. I discovered that you cannot remove the printhead from the...

    Hallo from Spain

I'm John and I live in Valencia. I came to this forum via the superb help series originally posted online by our moderator. I've had Canon printers ever since I've had my Mac - about twelve years now. I like them for all sorts of reasons but mainly because I have become familiar with them and...

    Canon iP7250 absorber change

Just to say that on the iP7250, you need to remove the top cover entirely before you can remove the print head. To do this, turn the printer around so that the rear is facing you. Look down at the top cover and you'll see a glossy black strip to its rear. Look along the back edge of this strip...
