Me again!

The big black cartridge on my MG5300 has run out and I've ordered another but I know I can print OK using the photo paper setting in the print dialog box. Can I fix this setting as default until my cartridge arrives?

Thanks

Hello!
Control Panel\Hardware and Sound\Devices and Printers right click your printer and choose Printing preferences
Do you see a "Always print with current settings" option?

Me again! I've just found how to do it on a Mac. It's a bit convoluted. You have to open the print dialog box by pretending to print something (!). When the print dialog box appears, you input your settings - so I set it for photo paper - then click on the Presets window. In the drop-down menu you then select "Save current settings as preset".
This produces an option in the same menu "Default Setting-1". You then cancel print and, when you're ready to print your next job, select "Default Setting-1" from the Presents drop-down menu. I said it was convoluted!

Thanks again, Tudor, for your prompt reply.
