The Pro9000 MK2 is a PITA. Yes, it does make Photo's beautifully when you finally get it done, but the "front tray" is a joke to load, taking one paper at a time and going through a number of steps to just print one photo. Also, after putting the front cover in the "front tray" position and...
Their newest requirement requires the downloading of "CD-PrintTools-5.rar" which my Avast reports as a Trojan and won't let me open it!!!!!
If you can find CD-PrintTools-7.zip, it doesn't have the Trojan and works fine (Says it's for a different printer, but works).
I had tried at least a half a dozen different carts before (all using oem carts) with no change, but I went ahead and flushed my cart and refilled it. Same problem, worked once after deep clean and then not a spot.
I have been using ink from inkjetcarts.com for many years in my trusty IP5000, but I just recently plugged up my printhead with the Cyan. (cleaned, cleaned, etc. and even tried it in another printer. Deep cleaning brings it back for 3/4 of a page and then gone.) Since I am getting a new...
When you say "mostly the same inks" do you mean that I can use my BCI-6 inks for the same colors in the CLI-8 cartridges and just buy the addition colors?
I just bought the BCI-6 inks.
Well, I did it. I went to Best Buy and looked at the MG5320 and was not impressed. I thought the scanner was sheet fed and it is not. It is smaller than the separate scanner I already have.
I started looking at the Pro 9000 printers again and discover they were offering a rebate of $200...
I agree, but I can't really afford it, or the footprint. Plus I would miss the cd printer (I converted my ip5000 years ago).
Thanks for finally getting through to me.
OK! Then I should be looking for a new printer that takes the CLI-226 ink carts, like the MG5320, and then buy some OEM CLI-221/CLI-521?
I think I've got it.
All that I was trying to find out what newer printers I should consider (that I could substitute a transparent cart for later refilling).
I thought I had read in another post that you were recommending to someone with opaque cartridges , that they should buy some OEM CLI-8 cartridges and change the chip from their original carts. Was this a shorter cart but would still physically take the CLI-8 cartridge?
A little to far away...
This doesn't mean that you can actually use BCI-6 cartridges without a chip does it? That would be TOO good to be true!!!
OK, I have lost track. What are the cartridges that are basically the same size as the CLI-8/BCI-6 but are opaque?
What American printers will work with these cartridges. I am looking to retire my ip5000 (which is a breeze to refill) due to printhead problems. I checked the mg5250 and it appears to only be available overseas. Is there a list of compatible printers?
Well, my printhead is acting up again, no cyan. I have cleaned and cleaned and even tried the "magic Printhead cleaner". The odd thing is if I run a deep cleaning on the printer, I can print about 85% of a page that uses cyan perfectly and then it runs out. I have changed carts and it acts...
I have a nozzle test that shows a horizontal light streak in the center of the 6BK. I have cleaned and cleaned the print head, changed carts, etc., but it is still unchanged. Everything prints normal and this has been going on for as long as I have had this used printhead (about 6 months)...
The QY6-0057-000 is no longer available at any price. Last month I found one that they wanted over $250. More than the printer cost, although someone is selling new printers at $499.
Pooh! I love my ip5000 (working on my 4th one, 3 used), Photos as good as lab. Been refilling since new.
From somewhere else, I noted the following:
ip5000 bk 320 c 256 m 256 y 128 b 128 -qy6-0057
ip4200 bk 320 c 256 m 256 y 128 b 128 -qy6-0059
Could this mean the ip4200 print head could be used in the ip5000? They are still pretty expensive, but much cheaper than the ip5000.
Well, I bought a new printhead, and now, my light cyan and light magenta (not photo) print again, but NO pigmented black. Multiple cleanings, deep cleanings, and even a purge with a large black filled in circle. Two new OEM carts. Is my printer toast????
Yes and No! I had first tried someone else's suggestion and purged my cart and filled with Photo Black. When I put the new OEM canon cart in, it printed partial black (like my original picture) but it wouldn't clean up, so I cleaned the print head again and now it won't print ANYthing black or...
