Hallo. I've been thinking how lucky I've been with my MG5350 with virtually no problems. However, just recently when I bring up the print dialog box in Pages, it won't remember the settings and reverts to default. I've done the following:
- Restart
- Reinstalled Pages
- Updated the Canon software
- Reset the Printer
- Removed and reinstalled the printer
The printer is fine on all other applications, just this problem with Pages. Is there a mismatch between Sierra and Canon here?

Many thanks in advance

To add to this, 'I've also posted on the appropriate Apple forum and no-one has replied there either. Seems to be a problem unique to me and my printer and Sierra.

Good point. I upgraded to High Sierra and then realised that High Sierra is intended for solid state hard drives and my iMac has a mechanical hard drive, So I downgraded to Sierra again - it took overall about four weeks (no kidding!). However, at that point I had no trouble with Pages and Canon and this problem has only arisen within the last two or three weeks. I can't think of anything that I might have done - I haven't downloaded any new apps or upgraded any. But you have just given me an idea - I can reinstall Sierra and see what that does.

A pleasant morning reinstalling Sierra (California times seems to be a bit different to ours - about 33 minutes to instal!). Still, a useful exercise but, alas, to no avail.

I would now look to the App that is giving you the print trouble, because it’s not your O/S and its not the printer, so the only thing you haven’t checked is Pages, something must have change in the interim to cause it to fail...

Is Pages part of the package that comes with the O/S ?...

I bought Pages 7 as part of the iWork CD but foolishly threw the box away with the access number so that when I downgraded from High Sierra and had to reinstall all my apps (which is why it took nearly a month!), I was unable to reinstall Pages 7. As I liked it (at the time) I purchased just Pages 7 without the rest of iWork. I have been able to reinstall Pages 7 from the Apple Store but this does not seem to have helped. Now that I've reinstalled Sierra, I will reinstall Pages 7 and see what happens. As always, thanks for the tip. Here goes ...

I use Clean My Mac to uninstall apps because it does a clean job but it would not separate Pages 3.0.3 and Pages 7. So I had it uninstall both, then reinstalled Pages 7 from the App Store. Still no good. So then I reinstalled Pages 3.0.3 from my back up (he's no fool!). No marks for success but full marks for persistence!

Not familiar with Mac's, so this may not explicitly apply as it could with Windows....

Is there a setting in Pages or a different application running in the background or triggered when you shut down that is deleting cookies or cache that causes Pages to return to default?
