Canon Pixma Pro 100 idle for 3 months

I live in GA and also print maybe once a month or two (either an actual photo or run a test print via batch file), so far didn't have any issues, prints and test pattern always come out perfect. Still using original Canon carts that came with my Pro-100. I will switch to PC inks at some point....

    duplex printing

I don't think it'll be perfectly aligned, from my experience it was always a few pixels off, but yeah, just give it a shot with a simple empty large square across the whole page, print turn and print again, then check for alignment against a lamp.

CAnon PIXMA PRO-100 print speed difference

Another reason might be hardware modifications done in newer models. This is very popular in computer motherboards (especially noticed with Gigabyte boards) where the initial motherboard release would be 'rev 1.0' and later on they will have 'rev 1.2' or 'rev 1.3', so even though they might look...

Photo printer for grandkids - suggestions??

If quality is not top priority and you'd like something in a smaller footprint, an Epson PictureMate might do the trick. Can find some cheap ones on eBay. Canon has a similar 'personal' photo printer as well IIRC. I've used one in the past and it was easy to use, has a single ink cartridge that...

Pro-100, want to use 3rd party inks, what's next?

Jose has excellent videos about the Pro-100 (Canon and Epson in general), check him out: https://www.youtube.com/user/cheo1949/search?query=pro+100

So, what would be the best printer for refilling today...

Good point but I thought that was obvious :) Amazon has a set of 4 colors for $45 for the high-yield toner, so for the occasional printing (which is what I assumed from the OP) it can't be beat.

Why don't you dump ink and go with laser? very cheap, no ink spills. I'm using a Dell H625cdw, loving it!

Epson Artisan 810 Print head problem.

Hi Leonard, unfortunately I didn't, was from some vendor on Amazon. I'm good now with a refurb WF845 and another CISS I bought from Amazon. Next time i'll consider buying from you :)

Epson Artisan 810 Print head problem.

The leak was at the base of the tank where the ink enters the tubes. I didn't see any air in the tubes, which confused me, but because there was no seal, it never flowed correctly and the nozzle check always failed.

Epson Artisan 810 Print head problem.

In my case it turned out it was a leak in the line, so there was always air going inside causing the bad nozzle check. Is the tank level with the head? I moved on to a WorkForce 845 and had an issue with the nozzle-check on a new CISS kit, turns out I had to place the tank to be the same height...

Epson Artisan 810 Print head problem.

Alright, I don't know what else I can do. I had the printer blink reporting a major error upon startup. I played with the gears that control the head placement near the motor and was able to get the printer to work again. All colors are perfect except black. It is a little faded, as if 80% of...

Epson Artisan 810 Print head problem.

Turned out I have a major flood somewhere, ink was all over the place. I opened it up as follows: It looks like the tubes to the printhead are nicely primed, but black still doesn't print. Maybe the clog is in the head after all, I'll try to follow mikling's suggestion and see if it...

Epson Artisan 810 Print head problem.

Gotcha. I think my problem is that the tubes from the carts to the printhead are full of air, and I can't see to remove it. I think maybe 3 out of 6 of these tubes appears to be clean of air. I'll try your suggestion with the syringe on the cart. What did you do with the Windex/ammonia? I...

Epson Artisan 810 Print head problem.

Awesome pics and explanation, thanks m8! So what do you plan on doing with the waste? feed it back as 'black'? Can you take a picture of the tubes connecting the cartridges to the printhead? are they also full of ink with no air trapped inside them? Should I remove both the main plugs of the...
