What are your sensitive parts doing inside a printhead? :|

    WD-40 debate.

And an older MSDS states the contents as being NAPHTHA (PETROLEUM), HYDROTREATED HEAVY MINERAL OIL CARBON DIOXIDE (spray can only)

    Ink for PGI-5 & PGI-8

ASC do Pigment ink for canon, you just need to ask them to quote for it.

Huge problems with CLI-8 and PGI-5 cartridge refilling process!!!

I agree with on30trainman, what you describe is exactly what happens when the refill hole is not correctly sealed. In normal use, there are only 2 holes in the cartridge, the bottom sponged one where the ink leaves, and the top of the chamber where you remove the tape when you are installing...

    Ink on my hands

Bleach! Actually, if you are careful it will remove the colour* from your hands and not your skin if you are quick enough and wash the hands well with water afterwards until they don't feel soapy. It's my weapon of choice when I get ink on my hands after re-inking, but I don't leave it on more...

Canon - Don't make them like they used to?

You wont regret buying an MP610, I didn't. I don't know about wireless printing and what not having it would do with Macs. Mines on the desk attached by USB, but is available via the PC to anything thats on my "network" (ie. the wireless laptop) so wireless wasn't an issue. Photo print quality...

    Which Camera?

The more you look into cameras, the more complex it gets. More megapixels doesn't mean better quality, stuffing 8MP onto a compact sized CCD (image detector chip) will give inferior results than 8MP of a digital SLR with a larger chip surface. Thats part of the pice difference. What do you...

    I am officially an IDIOT!

Thought that might be a bit vague. Ralph Wiggum is a character in the Simpsons cartoon, son of the Police chief, he isn't the most bright child in the world. After being asked or told something complicated that goes right over his head, he replies as I wrote, or on another occasion, "My cat's...

    Print quality question

Sherlock mode. Same printer, same ink, same settings. Only difference is it's another sheet of paper. So, was it same paper source? Is it double sided or single sided paper? I don't know if it makes a difference. What about lighting conditions. Do the two prints still look different? You...

KMP one of the best pigment inks according to Druckerchannel.de

Pharmacist, I agree, its a reasonable price. I was just pointing out that as the GBP is falling against the euro, the price in sterling is increasing. But it is still a good price. Although 1litre of Pigment would last me longer than the lifetime of the ink or the printer, I'd have to go for...

KMP one of the best pigment inks according to Druckerchannel.de

Only problem is with the falling value of the UK pound against the euro, these inks are getting more expensive. Another thing, I looked at the KMP site and tried to go through the purchase cycle, but there seemed to be no way of getting it delivered outside Germany or the Benelux countries...

Best brand for home office printer?

Hi, I'm jumping in here, I have some friends who bought an (old) model Brother Laser years ago, and it's still churning out the pages. I've checked the info Brother Laser Jets mentioned and yes, they will print labels. The 5250 goes up to 160gsm paper. At work I've used Avery / elcheapo labels...

    zczink CIS any info?

Been looking at a number of the videos of this system on youtube, looks pretty good.* $538 for the kit? thats about 330 as of today, so I guess you need to be pretty serious about printing to need to buy one. *It's got flashing lights, I'm sold. ;)
