As already suggested - keep the cartridge in the dark. The imaging drum is photo-sensitive and will get ruined quickly if exposed to light. This is not applicable to cartrides without the imaging drum, ie where you have a seperate drum (Brother) but all HP toner carts I know of use a drum...

Canon do a thing where you send them the file and they print it and send it back - you can choose which printer you have it printed on so this may give you a good idea of quality

I dont think it will, one uses a plug that is pierced by the printer and then the ink flows, the other has a valve inside that the ink comes through, although the ink inside the two is the same, I dont think it will fit, and making it fit could result in leakage. Dan :)
