Hi guys, I have a Canon MB2720 with a brand new head that I sourced from a donor unit. I have put brand new refillable cartridges in and refilled them with a dye ink for all colors. The problem is, everything appears to be coming out very wet and gradually the blue seeps into the magenta. I am suspecting maybe the dye ink that I'm using is too thin. However, before I get a brand new set of dye inks designed for Canon, just wanted to check if anyone has any other suggestions to try and diagnose this? I am fairly certain it's the ink as even when the pull the print head assembly out, the blue kind of leaks out very easily through the print nozzles. I didn't actually know that thin (leaky) dye inks were actually a thing. This seems to mostly be a problem with the blue color. I have also changed my printer settings such that the color intensity is at the lowest value.
I wanted to rule out any possible problems with the generic refillable cartridges themselves, but seeing as the other colors (yellow and black) do seem to work ok, it leads me to believe maybe I have a bad batch of blue ink. Would like to avoid using pigment ink refills if possible as they are quite costly and I'm not too concerned about print quality.
Let me know your thoughts? Thanks.
