EcoTank printers using Pigment Inks

Hi, all you Ink-Jet Setters!
Would it be true to say Pigments inks will essentially be waterproof on printable vinyl?
Which EcoTank has the fastest speed for colour printing?
What would be the estimated time needed to print in full colour an A4 Vinyl sheet with total A4 image coverage?
All assistance will be most gratefully appreciated.

What are you printing ? Why is speed important ?

The printing speed very much depends on the number of available nozzles and the quality settings in the driver - you may use the for a first ine comparison the printing speed numbers published by Epson - which are supposedly done under comparable conditions. Actual speed may vary with other quality settings

Each time you respond to my enquiry, I am reminded how unclear my questions are!
I have "read between the lines" and you have indirectly answered my question. The pigment ink-printed vinyl will be film laminated for good protection. I just want to be sure the ink on the edges does not run with rainwater sipping in between the vinyl and the laminate.

Taht's not an issue of the inks you are using - that's a question how reliable your lamination process is along the edges closing those gaps. And please be aware that you should not laminate your prints directly put give them 24 hours to really dry. You otherwise get an efffect that the coating with the printed inks stick to the lamination foil and separates from your printing paper - your vinyl sheets in this this case.

Yes pigment ink is water proof on Vinyl..

Here is a Vinyl sticker I did quite some time ago, (several years) and here is the results, the one on the left is the one that’s in place outside and the other is one that has been kept indoors.. (laminated)

But I wouldn’t put pigment inks into an Eco Tank, unless you want trouble, yes they will work for a while, but after that who knows..

Printed on a Canon Pro 9500 with I.S. pigment inks..

There are EcoTanks using pigmented inks like ET-16650. I have one and in comparison to Epson Pro 4900 the machine is trouble free.

The big question is what level of Water-Resistance or Water-proof do Pigment Inks offer when the print is NOT laminated? Should the pigment inks withstand being put under a water tap for one minute?
