The Epson SC-P900 uses a user replaceable waste ink/maintenance box C9357, there is no need for an adjustment program

I thought so,
But the printer says "The printer's Ink Pad is nearing the end of its service life. It is not a userreplaceable part. Please contact Epson support. The ink pad is near the end of its service life and the message will be displayed until the ink pad is replaced. Contact Epson for support"..

Can you run the WicReset utility ? It may display the status of the waste ink counters - there are typically 2 of them - one for the waste ink from the cleaning unit , and the pump delivers that ink into the waste ink box, and there is a 2nd counter for the ink - the overspray ink when you print a lot of borderless images - that ink goes into an ink pad in and underneath the print mechanism , it could be that this counter is at 100%, and these ink pads are not user replaceable . You would need the adjustment program and possibly a service manual, these items are available via the internet , but these are not officially released by Epson for the users to use them on their own.
Typically the waste ink counter for the overspray ink runs much slower than the counter for the waste ink from the pump into the maint. box.

I've just run wicreset utility, but wic reset utility does not support p900 model reading waste ink counter yet...

You have two choices - you give your printer to Epson service or a certified repair shop, or you are interested and able to fix the problem yourself. You would need a service manual to find instructions for the replacement of the ink pads, you need replacement pads and you need the service utility to reset the counter(s). I see several sources on the internet offering the service manual - at a charge of about 9.95$ or more. Just google for 'service manual p900 epson' , it's a combined service manual for the P700 and P900 printer models. And there might be some Youtube videos explaining the reset but I don't know in detail.

Does the WicReset utility allow you to run a status report which typically lists the last error codes/conditions the printer went into ?

First of all, thank you for detailed reply.
I managed to get service manual and adjustment program.
When I reset the platen counter it goes to zero.

Is it because I am using p904 not p900? or something else?

I don't know, I don't have the adjustment program and don't have a P900 to replicate your situation, it is my understanding that you use 'initialize' on screen 1 and 2, you select a paper/format on screen 3, insert the paper with exactly that format into the sheet feeder and the printer will assumingly print some (test) pattern - testing the borders. The error screen points to some format error as I would understand it.
