MS seems to be deprecating faster and faster after new releases.

Yes MS does mess up if you’re trying to fit a square peg into a round hole. Normally it works perfect, I’m using MS since Win 11 and all dough I didn’t like some of their newer O/S’s, I’m still with them..

I gather you mean Windows 2.

My first Microsoft OS was in Windows 2.11 in 1989. A customized version preinstalled in a terrible Amstrad computer ( the only one I could afford by then).
I went through Win 3.0, 3.1, Win95, 98, ME, XP .. Vista was wisely skipped, then Win7.. Win 8,0 and 8.1 were disregarded as well and finally Win 10.
Windows 11 ?. Let''s see about the interface, the advantages and disadvantages, compatibly with existing programs, drivers and so on.
Even if MS stops supporting Win10 in 2025, that doesn't means that you can't keep it working for a longtime afterwards There're millions of computers running happily Win 7, even Vista or XP.
For one thing, it seems that my computer isn't eligible for Win11, even if it has that TMP2.0 thing installed and UEFI enabled in the BIOS. There seems to be a non specified problem somewhere. When I go into the 'device security' tab of the Update-configuration panel, it says only 'standard security hardware non admited'.
Rest assured, that mesage won't keep me awake at night.
Right now I'm stuck at Win-10 v1903 because any attempt to upgrede to v20H2 fails when the process is almost completed. Microsoft apologizes saying that there was a problem (no details, of course) and they'll try later, which they do, with the same result.

@The Hat, I don't share your overall positive view of Microsoft Operating systems and their confusing update system I admit though that the upgrade policy for Win 10 ( free to users of Win 7 ) was a nice detail, although I suspect that it wasn't out of kindness, but commercial strategy.

Apparently, there's no way to make my current computer comply with Microsoft directives for Win-11.
That program detects 3 problems :
1- Boot method : legacy. (That's not true. UEFI is enabled in the BIOS).
2- Secure Boot: not detected/disabled (False again, secure boot is enabled in the BIOS as well).
3- Disk partition Type: GPT not detected ( Correct, my disks are MBR, but when I try to change them to GPT, the validation procedure fails (no details about the causes).

For the record, those are SS disks. One of them with a m2 PCI-Express interface and the other SATA 3.

Yes you are correct, what I meant was Win 2.11, back then I was much younger, and Vista was about the best we run for more than 10 years, now upgraded to 8.1, I was sad to see it go, but the boss said it had to, he knows better..

I have no intention of moving to Win 11 till I’m told too, because a new computer build will be necessary to accommodate this new O/S, and that will be the time to curse and swear at not be able to adapted to its new environment, old habits die hard..

P.S. I don’t like these SSD drives or whatever there called.. I like something more dependable..

I've ben using solid state drives for years and not a single problem. If you tried them you'll soon forget those noisy, bulky and slow mechanical disks.
Seriously, for high capacity external data storage, mechanical units are still needed because SSDs above 1TB are frightfully expensive but, other than that..

I did and to the same, and I had already several failures of brand name SSD's , I'm doing more backups on SSD's than I ever did on hard disk drives.

@Artur5 , it is definitely your MBR partition that blocks WIN11, you need to start in safe mode via the security and recovery options to run mbrtogpt.exe, you can run this before in /v (verify) mode, google on this it has been explained.
It worked on my SATA 3 SSD.

Microsoft also officially released the PC Health Check PC software. But this app only shows initially a pass/fail message with no details. If anyone wants to find what problem with my Pc then they cannot find any solution with the Microsoft PC Health Checker app.

Not true anymore. MS has updated the PC Health Check software since it's release and you can find detailed explanations.
