I have also found that changing the paper a couple of times speeds up the drying. It still takes some hours though.

I would think that microwaving the cartridge would ruin the chip.
Yes, of course. In my case, it were BCI3/BCI6 chipless cartridges from the first generation of Pixmas

Hello everyone,

Hope you are doing and printing well.

I have a question regarding the previous posts here: I bought the pre-filled cart set from Octoink, totally sure that was a good choice, but now, at my first refilling moment with these carts, I think I have done something wrong.

Black, cyan, photo magenta and yellow were flashing low ink. So I refilled using the top-fill method. I didn't reset the chips, considering this wasn't necessary for the carts in the kit. First five prints afterwards all went fine, until now - the black cart keeps giving me an 'empty' error and won't print any further. Which n00b mistake did I make?

Thank you very much for your insights,
Enjoy Saturday,
Kasper

Whenever you exchange your cartridge for anything other than a brand new one, you must reset the cartridge chip before you refill, for that cartridge to continue to function properly…

Can I ask you if there could be potential disadvantages for this solution in order to avoid purges:

What about opening the cover, removing the power cord, refill everything, putting back the cartridges and turning back on the printer as just a power outage happened? Do purges happen even in this case?

Yes, every time… They can’t be stopped… Plus you get an even bigger purge for pulling the plug..
I see, this behavior happens also when turning off normally the printer? Sorry for the additional question :)
