You find a service manual covering the models iP1200-iP1600-iP2200 here.

From pages 6/23 and 16/23 it is seen that the problem most likely is caused by something blocking the movement of the print cartridge carriage,

The service manual suggests on page 6/23 to replace the printer, but you might be lucky and find the cause of the error. I suggest to try that before dumping the printer.

While this is for a different model printer, it still may apply to your printer:

https://hk.canon/en/support/8201128000

More information would be good.

  • Is this a "new" printer?
  • Did you just install the printer and it malfunctioned?
  • Did you install a "new" print head and then the error occurred?
  • Has the printer always worked for you?

so i think to flash the bios file and try for the last time
Canon printer Firmware = BIOS.

You can find Canon Firmware files on the Canon web site on the web page for your printer model. Make sure to uninstall the printer and all associated Canon files (eg Drivers), reboot, and then install the printer as if new out of the box. Follow the steps exactly as instructions state for a new printer installation.

While Canon has updated your printers Drivers, I do not see an update on the Firmware for Win 10 OS. If your printer worked under Win 10 then either the old Firmware works or Windows 10 installed a/the Firmware necessary, possibly in covert "Compatibility Mode"

The flashing of the control lights indicates an error in the printer. The electrical or mechanical malfunction causing the error is independent of OS, driver and firmware, so don't try to update the firmware. Instead the error in the printer should be found and corrected.

The table on page 6/23 in the service manual only mentions a carriage error, not a blockage. Page 16/23 mentions carriage blockage as the most likely cause. The link posted by stratman also mentions blockage, most likely of the carriage, but other parts might also be blocked.

I agree with The Hat. I also think a missing or wrong position signal from a dirty timing strip or timing disk(s) could also trigger this error, so I suggest to try to clean the timing strip. See this post. The timing strip might also be torn. I have repaired a torn timing strip that couldn't be attached with 2 layers of 3M invisible tape.

For service mode operations on this printer a special service tool is needed. You find a working link in this post. But the service tool can only give some info and reset some counters. It cannot repair the printer.
