I finished making all the new pieces I reckon I needed last night, but not without a few problems, I got my first clog in the new machine, and no idea where it came from, I was 22 hours into the part when the nozzle stopped feeding filament.

It might have been a bad section of filament or something, the humidity was @60% for the fast few days so I maybe it caught up to me and the filament started to foam, who knows..

When I went to remove the tubing from the glass it refused to budge, and when I finally got the Feckin thing off, it pulled some of the laminated covering from the glass surface, see Pic, then I decided to replace the clogged nozzle with a new 0.5 one and then continued to print the remaining missing piece… More later..

If it had clogged shortly afer starting the print I would have said the nozzle was too close to the bed, which would have also explained the difficulty removing it, however as it failed well into the print it's not the case. dirt or debris in the filament maybe or as you say a bit of moisture.

I have spent the afternoon putting most of this girl back together again, and now she is starting to look more appropriately dressed, the next step is to feed the wiring through the pipes and fit the bulbs and holders, then the final phase will be to secure the crowns onto all the lanterns.

Next it will be time to rebuild the pallet platform so I can secure this beauty back in place. She won’t be complete till she illuminate that section of garden for Ted..

After an almost six months wait, my lamps are back in place, once I had completed the assembly the weather played a part in the delay, if is wasn’t pouring with rain the wind was howling, you think it was on purpose, because we’ve had Feck all rain or wind for months..

It took a bit of manuvering and after a couple of attempts I got her into the right position, I did have a mishap dough, I let one of the lanterns bang into the upright pole and it had to be replaced, with many hours of delay..

If I ever have to remake the whole lamp standard again I wouldn’t make the same mistakes I made on this one, my design of some of the pieces was nothing short of pathetic and I know I can do it a lot better. I didn’t make any mistakes, only diversions.. :th
P.S. You would not believe how difficult it makes the installation with only a slight breeze blowing..
