Except when someone has a better idea I would do a few more nozzle checks.
If no progress launch one normal cleaning.
The way that colours are switching on and off, still suggest that it’s the purge unit, think about it for a minute, each time a cleaning cycle is carried out the nozzle check changes with a different colour missing, and the only thing that will cause that is a blocked purge unit..

Fitting all new cart should give a perfect nozzle check and if not then what ? !...
Printing any sort of test sheets are out of the question till this situation is resolved..

If this is the purge unit as you suggest, is there anything else that I can do to fix the issue?

Analyze the funny trailing edges and think for a second. Why is it fuzzy?.....what happens inside the printhead and inside the nozzle chambers.
Ink boils violently.
Pressure builds up.
Pressure must be relieved. Normally this is entirely outwards immediately towards the paper.

Do any of the patterns indicate a delayed or slowed release of pressure?
Why does the pressure build up?
If released slowly what happens?
What causes the pressure within the printhead to build up abnormally?

Answer these questions and you will likely find your solution or at least the possibility of what the problem might be.

Where exactly can they be seen ?

I know that lateral extensions on the vertical black bands are a sign of the end of the printhead.

Please stop employing the Socratic method. This isn't school and this isn't the first time you've done this. If you know the answers to your own questions then inform us. This is a help forum, not a riddle forum.

I sell ink so I won't say what the problem is. You've got deposits building up inside the printhead. Either the exit is constricted or the heaters are not cooling off fast enough and the heat is retained to the point it continue to expand the bubble when it should have been burst.

I already mentioned the cleaning properties of proper ink in addition to the self clearing aspect when the nozzle is operating properly. Long term testing of what in 2017 for the Pro Pigment series and running into these issues taught me a few things. Yeah, hours and hours of testing and trying to figure out what was happening is the thing. I do real work and R&D and not just resell from a wholesaler. Reliable pigment ink for Canon printers is a little trickier than it first appears.

I even hinted at the water pik which was poo pooed off. previously.

Now is that what you wanted to hear? Or did I transgress the rules?

Here is a video of someone using a Water Pik. Not exactly the way I would use it, I think the length of time in use is a little low but he compensates with more ammonia and he gets more suds. Do it in a larger sink, use a shield of some type. I would also use water in the water pik for a better rinse. One possible reason why one printhead "cured" itself after time is that I think air due to foam was caught somewhere.

This makes no sense to me. It may be obvious to you but it isn't to me.

And deservedly so, because the old methods work best, there’re slower but they work with the help of our friend called Patience..
Query:- If your Special Edition inks are so good then how come this stupid guy has to use a Waterpik to clean the ink out of the print head ?... I’m just asking…

Hey,

I really appreciate everyones suggestions and the discussion but I am still no further with fixing my printer, as I am unsure on what advice/ steps I should take/do next.

I could clean the print head again but this would be the 3rd time it has been cleaned.I have followed cleaning method advice and I doubt I can make it any less clogged than I already have. If you think that it is indeed still clogged, obviously I will be inclined to clean it again. Alternatively, I have purchased a new print head and given the time I have already spent on cleaning (this is the 5th day) I am happy to put in the new print head, if that is the problem.

My time is money and unfortunately I am running out of time.

If this isn't a printhead problem and a purge unit problem, then what else can I do without damaging the printer? Im unsure if this is normal, but when flooding the purge unit last time, it basically flooded the printer and surely that cant be good.

If anyone can give me clear instructions on what to do next, that would be great! Again I appreciate everyone giving their time and effort to try and help fix my printer.
