When you tell your wife you have discovered the "German Method" and she suddenly develops a headache

Nothing worth mentioning.
When all you see around you is your prints on your walls, labelled drawers for different papers... .

You think about how many days of beans and rice will get you one OEM cart because you had to buy "the best new printer" on the market.

You got the shakes because you're waiting for that printer to arrive and haven't printed anything outside your head yet and the only drawers you can see from your desk are through the window on the clothes line from the granny that lives across the street.

You keep checking nifty-stuff whilst waiting for the printer to arrive to make sure you're well prepared for when it does.

EDIT:
Most of your bookmarks are printing related.

You've got the tracking page for your new printer on auto-reload in a browser.

You keep substituting nouns and verbs with "printer" and "printing" when printing to others about things not related to printers or printing.

Probably because the older printers were in many ways a much better piece of kit... The build quality on some of the new ones is just appalling...

...Of course I'm an addict so take that with a pinch of ink... I mean Salt!... ;)

Since I have two Canonprinters-560 and 4200 and an unpacked 4700-and intend to buy my son another Canon printer-I wonder if you could tell us what models you think have an "appalling quality.I must say I like my present printers very much-easy to refill and use.I print a lot of photos with high quality single lens reflexcameras and to me the print quality is sufficient-not to say excellent.By the way-I use your ink most of the time! Also excellent!
Thank you in advance Bertil

This thread by Smile shows one difference in build quality between new and older Canon printers, there may be other differences as well: http://www.nifty-stuff.com/forum/viewtopic.php?id=5609&p=1
