Hi, I tried to print on transparent Xerox inkjet foil with Epson XP900, but black area is with "random lines", non consistency color (attachment). I need it as UV mask. Printer is relatively new, with original (demo) cartriges. I tried to print with different configuration and different type of papers. I saw differencies, but it was still not usseable. Printing on paper and photopaper is ok, with no "lines". Nozzle check is also ok.

I had Canon IP7250, prints on foil was much better, black was more transparent (still acceptable), but more consistency and resolution was amazing. After refill with ink from ebay, it damaged print head.
So I bought XP900.

Do somebody know how to print with XP900 on transparency foil? Or how to increase printed amount of black ink. Thanks

You need to do a printhead alignment to get rid of the horizontal lines as the first action. And you then should
test which paper selection and driver settings give you the most black density - e.g. matte paper - grayscale mode or ICM off (color mode), and you may even select a specific high density black ink for refill which is used for the silk screen process

I tried to disable ICM profile, it looks little more consistent with little less "random lines". I hope that it will be ok under UV light.
More denisty black is with "basic office paper" - it is printed probably with pigment black. Other papers are printed with photographic black - it is more transparent black.
Black ink is on low level, I need to do first refill. I bought CISS kit and 105 / 106 Epson Inks. I hope that it will be ok and printer will be print after CISS instalation :D
High denisty ink... interesting, but more expensive and I am affraid how will be looks printed photos and color stabilisty after years. Meaby i will be to try it in future if 105 / 106 will be unusable for UV mask. Or new different printer...

You need a clean nozzle check - no lines missing - and a printhead alignment as well. The ICM option does not control banding but the ink density.
What are you going to print - pc board circuit layouts or photos for backlight illumination - why is color stability after years relevant - can't you do a reprint then if needed ?

I installed CISS to XP900, after some troubles it working :) I used Epson 105, 106 inks. I more times cleaned nozzles with Epson Adjustment tool. Printed result is same. I don't know if my print head is partially damaged, or paper configuration is so important.
(printing on foil PCB UV mask, photos on photopaper - home multi use printer)
On aliexpres I found waterproof white transparent foils for inkject prints, I bought it today, but delivery time to my country is about 1 month. I didn't find producer / brand these foils in EU.

Configuration BW mode, disabled ICC profile, gamma 2.2. High quality print.

F: printed on Xerox inkject foil
1 - config. basic Office paper (probably only pigment ink)
2 - config. Epson Ultra Glossy (maybe mixed with photo ink)

P: printed on Noname glossy photo paper
1 - config. basic Office paper (probably only pigment ink)
2 - config. Epson Ultra Glossy (maybe mixed with photo ink) - excelent quality, no lines, very consistency black

Is it somebody who can try print on Inkject foil witn XP900? and publish printed result.

I found recommendation for DTG printing...
https://www.printfab.com/en/ - it is free for 30 days, so I will by try to find something similiar in free version.
Conclusion is that printer is ok, but it need different driver. Now it consume huge amount of ink, but black on foil is excelent :)
