For compatible cartridges that work perfectly (like the OEMs) or for successful refilling (including with refillable cartridges), these are the printers to choose from:

Any BROTHER
Any CANON using CLI-221 or 226 carts
Any EPSON

That's it. Stear clear of DELL, HP, or LEXMARK.

Nah. HP is fine. Just be aware that (1) you can't reset the chips, so you won't have ink monitoring and (2) the cartridges are opaque (but still not hard to refill). Instead of ink monitoring you can just keep track of the page count and weigh the cartridges occasionally. You can also run HP cartridges dry, apparently without damage to the head if you catch it reasonably promptly. I don't know anything about Dell or Lexmark.

Hey there! Yes, all brother all-in-one printers accept non-original cartridges. And Epson is also another possible option. I have both brands and I have been using non-original cartridges for more than a year now for both. They work efficiently as well. No complaints so far. The brother is around 5 years old and the espon is about 4. Definitely top all-in-one printers .
