What epson and canon try to do to stop us from refilling

The ip4300 prints CD???? If so, tell me how. I have the ip4300, so am I missing something here?

kelvinyany,... Most people in the U.S. don't know that most all of the iPXXXX printer will print CD's. Canon disables all printers sold in the US from printing CD's, but all of them they sell in other countries do print CD's. There are CD Trays and instruction for most Canon printers on eBay. It is not that hard to do. I just looked at the service manual for the iP4200, which is virtually identical to the iP4300 and it has the ability to print CD's by changing the destination code to any country other than US, and by using the device driver supplied for that country. Aren't you happy you found this forum?

Make sure you also buy the rollers when you buy the CD tray. They are essential to smooth operation.

Thanks for all the info on ip4300 CD printing. Now, I know. It's inevitable that some very smart people will figure out how to hack the system and make it CD printable -- like they think they can deter us with those chipped cartridges.

I searched eBay and found the CD tray is selling for about $21, but I am not sure about the rollers. Where can I get those?
