What does this scan of my Canon i865 nozzle check indicate?

Well I can only apologize to my old printhead... the new one came and exactly the same problem.

I have also noticed a subsiduary problem in that the yellow ink is now contaminated with black. Out of interest what colour should the sponges of the purge unit be? Both mine were black and after dabbing them with some absobrbent kitchen paper the left slim one was black and the right one was showing green on the paper. Hmm

Hi,

I just wanted to revive this thread.

I got the exact same symptom on my PIXMA iP5000. Here's my nozzle check:

Please note it's a poor photo (I don't have a scanner). All the colors seem to print fine just like the original poster experienced, but when they are mixed to form black, all I get is dark green.
Obviously I have deep cleaned several times even with droplets of isopropyl alcohol on the ink intakes but to no avail. Has a solution ever been found to this problem?
