Integrated densitometer
Canon installed in his device equipped with an integrated spectrometer for color calibration. However, this is not for the creation of ICM profiles for a neutral reproduction, but merely compensate for tolerances in the production or altered pressure behavior due to wear.

This feature thus serves only to set the desired by the manufacturer calibration state, which then serves as the basis for its own calibration or using the built-in driver ICM profiles.

I wonder will this densitometer work with 3rd party inks and just ignore them or prevent their use completely, because these things can be pretty tricky to fool if they are firmware set to very small colour margins..:idunno

Sounds like the usual marketing jargon to make you think you are getting more than they are delivering.

Like politics speak (from the word poli = many, and tic = a blood sucking insect) clarity is not the objective.
