... this is the kind of situation that is a perfect example of why 3D printing isn't going to be mainstream anytime soon.

I found a CURA profile that was supposed to be AWESOME for the CR-10, so I gave it a try.

For the most part, it worked fine, but I was having a HORRIBLE time with the first few lines sticking to the bed.

Actually, it turned out it was the skirt lines that I print every time.

Little did I know:

  1. CURA has a "skirt line width" setting
  2. This setting is hidden by default
  3. The profile I was using had this line width set to .2! (my nozzle is .6)
So, my skirt lines were TINY and not sticking to the glass.

Fortunately I stumbled on this setting, un-hid it, and changed it to the recommended .6

This tiny hidden setting made all the difference!

When I got back to printing after my mainboard failure, I had so many issues remembering the basics I dumped CURA 3.3.1 and went back to the original CURA 15.04.6, because of the very same thing. (hidden Settings)

There were so many things changed in the App that I couldn’t tell what was going on and needed just the basics to get going again, and there are far less things to change in the original, I will upgrade to the newer version soon, but I’m in no hurry...

I’m wondering if @stratman will stick his un-socked toe in the 3D water any time soon, I reckon he’d be a great man for advice...

@The Hat - You know I like a good mystery, and 3D printers seems to have many mysteries yet to be solved! :D
