Is it possible to turn off the use of specific ink tanks on the Canon i9900, so that my printer may only use CMYK instead of the Photo Magenta, Photo Cyan, Green and Red? Most of the time I'm printing high quality paper prints and don't think the printer utilizes the other tanks, so they just sit there and get clogged?

All Canon printers go through periodic automatic cleaning cycles that serve to prevent clogging, even with seldom used nozzles.
