Hey all,

My Canon TS8350a is showing the 5B00 error. Since this is my second printer of this model dying due to this issue, I’d really like to know if anyone has experience solving it. I don’t want to throw away another printer.

I found that the Canon Service Tool v6400 might be able to reset the waste ink counter, but for this model, the only available versions seem to be sold by foreign eBay sellers, with no guarantee that they work on this particular model. I contacted one of the sellers, but unfortunately, they weren’t very helpful.

Has anyone tried a version of the tool on the TS8350a successfully and can share their experience?

Thank you!

I don’t know where you got your information from, but the Service Tool v6400 most lightly won’t work, you’ll need a higher version to be sure..

But if you want to take the chance here it is..

Just change the file extension from zip to exe to use..

Thank you for your answer!
I thought the v6400 is a pretty recent version of the tool, but seems to be not not publicly available. The tool you provided also appears to be another version.

But I hardly can find any information about the supported printers and do not want to spend 30 Dollars on some eBay-tool that is not verified to work. If it works guaranteed I am gladly spending that amount!

Most likely I'll get a TS8750 as a replacement, even though I absolutely hate to buy another one of those Canon printers without a replaceable waste ink container.
If I reconcider it now is the 4th or 5th printer being replaced for that reason, but theg person the printer is going to is really used to the Canon software, so changing the brand is not an option.

You find no free downloads of newer Canon service tools, but version 6.000 is also claimed to work with your printer. Here is an eBay offer at 7$. I would spend the 7$ before giving up and buying a new printer.
