print-tool 2.4.0 works for me as it should, color matching and rendering intent is and stays greyed out when no colormangment is selected.

....BUT READ THIS:

https://calibrite.com/us/wp-content...ntDriverSettingsforColourManagement-EN-US.pdf

I just tried again with print-tool. It is the same as in the video I posted. When I click cancel once it enables the settings and jumps to the wrong one for Canon.
Claude told me the difference would be that if an image is untagged then print-tool would automatically assign a profile. But this would just be a guess and always be rgb even when the image might be cmyk (not sure if this is correct btw. just what Claude said). So it recommended not to do it. But the driver behaviour is the same as what I showed in the video for ChromIQ.

Driver is correct - I double checked. But make sure to try the latest version of ChromIQ. Claude made changes to it for Canon that were not in the version you tried when it failed.

The late Bill Atkinson who developed many of the torture tests that we use to check profiles was one of the original coders of Mac OS in the early days. He must be rolling over in his grave because of how Apple consistently screws up color management.

I also had a problem with the refine function and should have reported it. It went to the correct strips that contained the problem patch but did not write the data in the correct place. Fortunately, I did save the log for that day and have posted it to your GitHub account. When I did a profile two days ago, I did not use refine as the max error was only 1.3 and I did not want to screw things up.

seems this is OS related, will check out your new build next week
But in those menus: when you click cancel once and immediately open the again - is it still this way? Not closing the whole printer dialog, only those options. Ok works fine for me. Only cancel causes issues.

Trying a new custom modified target (TC9.18 + Spyderprint Extended greys target + some extra patches up to 1160 in total to make 2 x 580 patches: 20 rows of 29 patches equally divied onto 2 sheets of A4)

No problem by ChromIQ to detect the letters beloning to each row, despite the entry form on the left of the paper target (date/printer/paper/profile name etc).

Reading the last row of the second page: no problems with recognizing graphically the corresponding row set (AN).

Softproofing with this new slightly modified 1160 patch TC9.18 + Extended greys target:

The specially lowered patch layout on the paper allows your sheet of A4 paper to be completely inserted in the upper right corner of scanning jig/table of the i1Pro2 and have the scanning eye of the spectro to start on paper white and end on paper white when swiping completely from left to right and vice-versa, without the need of positioning the paper around on the jig in order for the spectro eye to start/end on blank paper surface: set and forget !!!

This is how the slighty modified 1160 patch TC9.18 + (Spyderprint) Extended grays layout looks like in i1Profiler (non-randomized version):

Note: the Letter version (second zip-file) needs some adjustement on the scanning board/jig as the paper size does not allow alignment into the upper right corner under the paper clamp and need to be off about an inch towards the left in order for the scanning eye to end on paper white als Letter is a slightly shorter than A4 (279.4 mm vs 297 mm)

Very nice! So you think they are ready to be added? Or do you want to do some further testing?

When I added your last presets Claude also made some adjustments to how it recongnizes the patches. Before the update it scanned the whole width of the paper first to figure out the Y-position of the highlighter. So when the text on the border was too big and high it threw it off. Only after that it checked where the actual patches are to get the X-position of the highlighter.
After the update it now checks the x-Position first and ignores the border when checking for the y-position. So it should be better and it really seems to be as your tests suggest.

If Alan finds some time next week or so I have to figure out what goes wrong with the guided refinement though. At the moment it is just guessing but I want to get this fixed.

Hi Sebastian,

Yes you can add them already to the latest version. Maybe Alan should have a look at too (the Letter version: make a profile with it and report back). He should download the second version (Letter: 8.5 x 11 inch).

Here is my picture printed with my Epson ET-18100 (CcMmYK: NO grey inks !!!). One made with the latest version of PrintPrism (version 210): 3 times scanning with 30 seconds cool down and the one below the above ChromIQ (ArgyllCMS + i1Pro2):

Printprism vs ArgyllCMs.jpg

A bit distorted maybe but the bluish/greenish hue in the greys in the above picture is very visible (PrintPrism). The picture below has perfectly neutral grays in broad daylight, whereas the above picture shows a bluish/greenish teint (PrintPrism).

@pharmacist
Update is on the way, expect it in a few minutes. The red of the strawberries looks better in the Argyll version as well. But the greys are the dead giveaway.
