Hi all

it's been a long time since I last posted something. So happy new year everyone!

Last year I got the good advice of the people in this forum and bought myself an Epson R3000. I am quite happy with the printer and enjoy very much printing although I still have not seen a jaw dropping performance compared to other printers/services. I somehow feel my experience is counter intuitive compared to what I read. For example I use papers like Canson Baryta, Platine, etc that people swear by but still somehow prefer Epson's own papers... Go figure...

Anyway, during vacation I prepared a photo exhibition which will take place in January and printed quite a lot. I also see the inks vanishing from the cartridges and thought to drop the question: which refill system would you suggest/have experience with?

Please note I leave in Switzerland so not everything is available to us (duh...) and I print occasionally.

Thanks a lot!

Dimitris

For your complete happiness :) especially when printing a lot of photos I can recommend for you install CISS.
The cost of printing with CISS now below the cost of laser printing!
For your printes is impossible to insyall it. Toy need a new good model. And install CISS.

And not everything is available because R 3000 is an old model.

The R3000 has a kind of ciss already built in: tubes from the (stationary) carts to the printhead.
So what you need is a set of refillable cartridges.
Search on ebay for "r3000 refill" ... you will find among others two offers from users of this forum:
item 281537176406 item 400831993281
PS: I can't say anything about reliability of the auto reset chips because I don't own this printer.

Hi,
My experience is pretty much limited to Canon and HP so I don't have any experience with your specific printer. Based on my experience with the Canon Pixma Pro 9500 and Pixma Pro-1, I suggest that you start by selecting an appropriate ink set. You probably want an ink set for which printer profiles are available if you are printing photos for exhibition or sale. Once you choose an ink set, the available vendors can help with the details of refilling.

I read that Cone inks are of excellent quality. There are Cone ink users on this forum who might have better ideas.

If you need I.S. inks then try octoinkjet.co.uk
because Precisioncolors may not deliver to you outside of the EU..

But you can get Cone inks in Poland if you can master their website..

Not a good idea for a printer that already uses a similar ink delivery system.
You might say that the R3000 already uses a CISS when you really think about it.

You seem to be pushing this particular company. Why?

Epson 3880. Canon Pro 9000,
Hi all

thanks for the tips, it's interesting to see answers coming from Canon users :) you seem to be friendlier?

I think Cone inks do not deliver to Europe...

I was actually looking at this one

http://www.specialistinks.com/marruttr3000-bulk-ink-system.php

and was wondering if precision colors deliver to Europe

http://www.precisioncolors.com/E9B2_ref.html

Any experiences? Or other makers?

Thanks!

As an Epson user really hope not contributing does not indicate being unfriendly, I use a 3880 and Cone. I have NO experience with the 3000 and I have no difficulty getting Cone ink from the USA, so my contribution would be minimal.

Some may say CISS is good with 3000, I can't say. What I can say is I would not go near CISS for this machine if you were holding the long pole for me, Refill carts, quick easy clean as, and provided some maint. is done no issues. My CISS on a little Epson needs CONSTANT use, and TLC, time I do not have.
