I don't see those ads either, and I don't have "parental controls". There are other ways of blocking most ads on any webpage...

Well, @Emulator , I don't think the owner of the site will be very happy if I do this. But... I use AdBlock Plus on Firefox ESR 24.2.0; I see no adverts on nifty, and all the other sites I visit are pretty much ads free.

I was beset or targeted by an onslaught of pop-up ads a few weeks ago. Discussed it on another website which elicited some excellent solutions. The thread is at:

NOTE: my wish was not to eliminate the legitimate advertising matter on a website that defrays much of the operating costs, but rather to remove the parasite malware that seemed to have infected by browser and computer. Got some excellent knowledgeable responses. See for yourself...

Thanks Tudor, that is the second time you have sorted out my problems!! Works like a charm. All the infiltrators have disappeared, but the official adverts still remain.
