There Has To Be An Easier Way !!!! Ughhhhh

1st, I would like to apologize in advance if my issue has been addressed. I have looked all over on the forums but I have yet to find an exact answer to my frustrating situation.

I have a Cannon MP830. I have refilled the OEM carts and they have been working fine. Well, eventually the PGBK has been indicating that the ink was low.

Ok, so I know how to override the printer status that pops up on my computer screen. Also there is no issue the printing or copying of documents.

Here is the issue.

When receiving faxes, there is a message on the small LCD screen on the printer that says low on ink. Well, no kidding. The document that is being faxed is being stored in memory. I can MANUALLY get it to print by toggling thru the menu but it will not do an auto print when receiving faxes.

Is there ANY WAY AT ALL to override the LCD message and allow the faxes to come in and print automatically. Any suggestions would be greatly apprciated.

Just when I thought I had really figured out how to bypass all the roadblocks on this thing, I run into this.

Best approach is to print off a load of black blocks until the printer decides it's using a refilled cartridge and demands you replace it or accept the ink monitor and warranty disable option.

Once you've done that it'll leave you alone but of course you'll also need to manually monitor the ink levels.

Firstly , it would appear this is a protection device designed to protect the head from burnout when the printer is "on " but unattended. Quite sensible.

Your text suggests you have emptied / topped up the colour carts and employed the "override" of the ink monitor on these carts.
Your text suggests that you have not yet emptied or refilled the PGBK or overridden the ink monitor on this cart.
I would presume that when all carts have been overridden for ink monitor status that the messsage will stop and allow free passage of the fax information to the print head.
This is all presumption on my part. I do not have experience of this machine. I hope I am right. If my assumptions regarding your current "override ink monitor"status are wrong please correct me.

I apologize for my lack of detail.

You area correct sir. All of the cartridges have been topped off also including the PGBK . I typically try to use gray scale printing the most just becucase there inst a need to print color all the time.

I didn't realize, rather didn't think that, Each cartridge would share the same message individually on each tank. Meaning, I need to override each tank.

PLEASE NOTE.....the message of low ink is on the LCD screen. That seems to be where the hang up is generating the stop print. Do we believe that the above protocol will be effective ??

BY THE WAY..........May the engineers that hold us down and develop these roadblocks get arm pits that fill with fleas, LOL. Well, I better watch that. They might be on this site. No offense and no disrepect to you if you see this, I know you are doing your job.

Great News , so glad we were able to be of service, thank you for coming back and letting us know it was successful.

Yes , you have to override for each cart , (currently my MP600 has 3 disabled and 2 active).

The LCD screen is a handy little screen which I think repeats info that is also present on message panels on the PC screen.
Once you have told the printer "brain " via the PC (or via the LCD screen perhaps??, not sure on that) , that you want to disable ink monitoring, it will treat the LCD and the PC the same.... the message "Low Ink"will stop for both.

Thereafter , as Websnail says , MANUALLY CHECK YOUR INK LEVELS IN EACH CART ON A REGULAR BASIS , keeping carts topped up is the best way, dont wait for them to get too low, printing with an empty cart will "fry" the head.
