Today I could hold on 2 bottles of vintage genuine iron gall ink: superior to any modern inks because it is water proof and permanent (not affected by so-called ink killers or rubbing and light resistant, so no fading). It writes a dark blue and oxidizes shortly into a permanent black that lasts for centuries. Modern fountain pen inks runs of the paper when in contact with water, but this ink stays firmly on the surface and is untouched after proper drying.
