I recently lugged a dSLR around for a day. If you don't know how to extract what it can provide in image quality AND do not appreciate what it does, I can't see why a normal person would purchase one...and I have three. So yeah......people are getting sane about cameras.
I suspect the big war will occur in the capturin

Epson is bringing another type of Ecotank printerts to market in Japan as described in the German
druckerchannel web site/forum

with cartridge like tanks in the printhead carriage which don't need to be taken out for refill, the refill bottles directly fit onto the cartridge tanks which use an ink sensor to detect the ink low condition.
The Epson refill bottles are much smaller than current bottles , and the price for such refill ink will most likely go up . Is this the way printers/ink supply will evolve in the next years ?

I am introducing a printing device where the colorant is solid and uses minimal energy. It never clogs but requires some training to use. It is environmentally friendly and is fully archival and is very low cost. Refilling requires the use of sharp object or tool.

"Genuine and authoritative third party" I think is self explanatory. If such an enterprise decided to sell inkjet color products that equal or better the gamut and longevity of existing Canon, HP or Epson inks at a lower price, well many would buy. Solid color inks is good research - they are used already in the sign industry. Never asked for a "free lunch" in my life!

My “revolutionary” innovation is refilling Pilot Hi-tecpoint pens with inkjet ink. In fact I found out on youtube videos, that’s hardly new. People has been doing it for years.

Pilot introduced not long ago a new series of rechargeable Hi-tecpoint liquid ink pens in several colors for V5 and V7 nib sizes. Those plastic cylinders contain a ridiculously small amount of ink -less than 1 ml- and the price per cartridge isn’t that cheap. As I tested personally, ordinary pigment or dye ink printer works as a charm for refilling Pilots. I tried black pigment thinking that maybe it would clog the nib of the pen after a while but no, it’s been working for months perfectly and I refilled it two or three times already. In top of that it’s waterfast, which the original Pilot ink, being dye, it’s not.
Another advantage is that you can mix CMY inks in any proportion to obtain the tone of color that you want. All the colors of the spectrum at reach for a super cheap price. For instance, 1 ml of black pigment ink for Pixma IP4000, costs 0,03 euro. Original refill cylinders from Pilot are around 4-5 euro per 3 units. i.e.1.5 euro each -> 50 times more than with bulk inkjet ink.
Even older Pilot pens not designed for refill can be used. It’s quite easy to remove the conical shaped nozzle with pliers or small scissors. Those pens, being devoid of internal add-on refill cartridges, can be refilled with much more ink than the meager 1 ml of refillable pens.

Off topic ?. Well, the title of the thread says “imaging market”. Hand writing it’s as imaging as inkjet..
