Supplier for Canon Printheads (i865, MP750, iP4000) ?

Hey all,

Having been playing with the MP750 and now a couple of returned iP4000's I'm realising why the printer has such an ardant following. However my problem now is that I now have at least one dead print head Bk3 is not working at all (despite a lot of cleaning work) and another which is slowly following suit. Ideally, I'd like to get all of the printers up and running and I'm concious that spares would be good for when Canon decide it's time to pull the plug on spare parts for the now defunct models.

In the UK I'm getting prices in excess of 50 for the relevant printhead (QY6-0049) but I'm pretty damned sure there are cheaper options out there, especially in the USA or Europe so can anyone point me to a supplier that can provide the units and is willing to ship to the UK.

From what I have read on the web with the different prices on Canon print heads, most folks end up buying them from Canon. Their prices are about the same price as the folks on E-Bay plus you know you are getting the real thing.

Websnail, you hit the nail right on the head! I am interested in finding one printhead or two as well. My printer works perfectly but considering that I am putting it under an extremely heavy duty, I fear that the printhead might fail some day (and it *is* much cheaper to replace a printhead than buy a new one in my case).

If you find any good outlets, please let me know.

So, having spent some time on the subject unless anyone has anything better it's looking a lot like Canon Repair centers are the best bet with the last price I was quoted as 50.70 inc delivery and VAT.
